We stayed here just for one night on our way back from the north to Auckland. We had a very pleasant welcome. The room was a good size with a kitchen area and separate washbasin and toilet which were all reasonably clean. The room and furniture was dated, the carpets had stains and it all needed a complete refurbishment. The... More

Stayed 2 nights here in December. Allocated room hadn't been properly serviced - some crockery and cutlery missing, and what was there was not clean. Management quickly rectified this by changing us to another room. Room, and in particular the bathroom facilities, were getting rather tired and in need of a considerable update. No problems with TV or WiFi. Small... More

The room itself was good, the only really bad thing at our room was, that as soon the room neighbours started to use the kitchen (cooking or making breakfast) it was as they would cook in our room. It seams, that the dividing wall and its attached devices (kitchen work plate) creates a huge body structured noise. We had this... More

Quite an aged little motel but clean tidy units. Bed was not very comfortable and water pressure in shower left a lot to be desired. Separate kitchen with stove and breakfast facilities but \no microwave unfortunately. TV and radio. Bathroom very old but still useable enough but as I said water pressure in shower pathetic.

One night spent here as part of a cycle race. 4 units we occupied, all were clean, and with good beds. I'd suggest that if you want a top class Hotel, in a fabulous town, then you shouldn't be visiting Dargaville.. But if you're looking for a family run, clean, good value Motel, in a typical Northland town, then you... More

Stayed here for one night while traveling New Zealand. Next time I would miss this town completely. This hotel was more expensive than a beautiful hotel I stayed at in KeriKeri but this hotel was really run down. The bed was lumpy and soft and the bedding was similar to what my parents had in the mid 70's. The bathroom... More

Dargaville is an uninspiring town that you would normally drive right through, but we needed a night's accomodation on our journey south and chose the Parkview. Based on the external presentation and economical rate we didn't expect much from the motel but were very pleased with the overall standard. Sure it's well past it's prime, but the rooms are well... For a start, what park and what view! The owners are pleasant and try hard but it is just very tired. The bed is really soft so if you are used to a medium or hard bed this could be a problem. The decor is dated and a dark and depressing. It is quiet but then so is Dargaville. Indeed,... More

Parkview Motel Dargaville - Husband called it the Bates Motel. Not really THAT bad - the proprietors were actually quite nice, but the motel has seen much better days - bed was lumpy and way too soft, everything was extra - Example - $2 per half hour to use the hot tub that features strongly in their internet site. Pool... More
