This was my second visit. It's a beautiful setting with separate lodges overlooking a lake. Very quiet and peaceful so one could definitely retreat here. Only a short walk to the Kai Iwi Lakes and to the coast through paddocks. There's a spa and plenty of DVDs for wet days or lazy evenings. Bicycles to use. Great hosts and Ruby... More

This little oasis was recommended by iSite due to all accommodation in the area being booked out due to a major weekend event. Didn't know what to expect as only had a brochure to go by but certainly wasn't disappointed. Underfloor heating made us cosy warm, a good selection of DVD's for those rainy nights and peace and quiet with... More

We had a lovely 3 day stay here as part of our honeymoon. Set over a few acres, the lodges are very comfortable and with their mini-lakeside settings, the outlook is amazing. Trout fishing at the nearby Kai Iwi Lakes is also a must.

We were very impressed because these were advertised as "lodges" but are architecturally stunning mini homes designed to let maximum light in. Ruby and her husband were excellent hosts. We were warmly greeted at the main house and shown the grounds. We stayed in a 1 bedroom "home". Beautiful art, colors, floor to ceiling windows, comfy couches, heated floors (yes... More

The charm and tranquillity of Wai Hou Oma Lodge, keeps bringing us back. Three visits now and more to come, this is one of the North Islands best. We have stayed in lodges one and two, both facing the lake, carefully and creatively planted for privacy. Charming inside and out, with a roomy patio, great little kitchen, excellent shower and... We had 2 lovely nights here. The units and gardens are beautifully designed which we really appreciated. We used the mountain bikes to ride round the Kai Iwi lakes and walked out to the west coast beach - both good things to do. Our dinner with Ruby and Noël was delicious. We would highly recommend staying here.

Thanks very much geofrey. I enjoyed our little chats between other guests. And what you saw jumping across the lawn also had a baby. Even drier here now, the drought is still hanging on. Tho our little lake has not dried up quite. All the best Ruby More

What a wonderful place to stay! We werent so sure about the place until we met the friendly host greeting us from outside of the reception, with some extra services such as the complimentary breakfast, lending mountain bikes, the theatre and many more. It was just the most perfect place to stay to run away from the stress from work.... More
