I understand the rationale behind calling it a 'Boutique' motel but I'm not sure it is quite the right descriptor. I imagined something modern but it is rather dated. That said, it was fine for our one night stay - clean and warm (with the heater on full) on a cold July night. Sufficient space throughout and the facilities were... More

We enjoyed our homely and comfortable stay at Awakino Point Motel. June is a lovely host and a very good painter and maker of pottery boots. The Breakfast was an excellent addition and set us up for the day. We would not hesitate to recommend this Motel to everyone.

A little more than we usually spend, but seemed a lot warmer than a lot of the other places we checked out. Especially with the log fire! Really nice place, quiet (a little way out), we had a twin and double room, attached to a lounge with log fire, shower, bath and toilet, friendly hosts and great little breakfast! (Loved... More

Exceptionally clean and comfortable facilities. Friendly hosts were only too pleased to help with local area information. The breakfast presented on a tea trolley to our room was an added bonus and set us up for our next day's travel. Would not hesitate to recommend to all and when we are in the area again we shall certainly book here... More

The room was very clean, and the hosts are friendly (although she mentioned that we should not put our suitcases on the bedspreads, that they could get dirty...), breakfast was fresh and delivered nicely to the room. However the furniture including bed and carpets seem to be over 20 years old, and should be renovated.

A warm welcome from June and Mick. Very helpful with information of what to do and see in the area. The unit was very comfortable, light airey, lovely outlook. The breakfast was superb - wheeled in on a trolley - beautiful home preserved fruit and preserves, perc coffee provided too.

We only stayed here for one night but would certainly come again. June, the hostess was very hospitable - offering ice, or lemons off the tree if we needed them. The unit was very clean and comfortable, and being well down the drive off the main road, it was very quiet. There were no cooking facilities other than a microwave... More

We stayed at Awakino Point Boutique Motel for two nights over the Christmas period of 2013. The location suited us perfectly as we wanted to enjoy the sites of the surrounding area. The Boutique Motels hosts, June and Mick were welcoming, friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and cosy and our unit... More

A wonderful place to stay in Dargaville. Quiet, clean and comfortable in a rural setting. Great hosts, happy to accommodate repeat visitors. We were very happy with the trolley breakfast. Safe and secure, central location to visit kauri forest and nearby sites for tourists.

To be kind retro rather than boutique. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable, The garden was well tended and the position was quiet. The breakfast came on a trolley half an hour earlier than we asked and toast was cold. No sink to wash up even coffee cups, No cooking facilities only toaster and kettle. Really... More
