The people were accommodating to our family in every way and it had ample parking and close to the main road when we took day trips. The beach was close by and it had umbrellas for guests. The pool was a decent size and they had activities every day in the summer time when we went. The breakfast had enough... More

We discovered La Tonnara last year and this year we returned for 5 days. The hotel has ample parking and a large sandy beach is just a stone's throw away, across the road. The rooms are modern and well equipped. In fact the shower is one of the best that we have had in Italy. You can get dinner a... More

This hotel is situated on the fabulous Amantea beachfront, just a short taxi drive from the Amantea railway station. We spent 2 nights here enroute from Sicily to the Amalfi coast. We discovered a gem, a popular venue for local Italians, not tourists. Our spotless room overlooked the beach and was large, airconditioned, quiet and very comfortable. The bathroom was... More

This is a full service Hotel with very nice sized rooms and en suite bath with all the accessories. More room than expected and the breakfast included was top notch and even had eggs any style upon request. We ate dinner at the hotel and were really impressed with the quality and presentation of the plates. The balcony faces the... More

While working in Amantea recently, we were housed at the La Tonnara. It was a lovely hotel with a very accommodating staff. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The restaurant was quite good with of course fresh fish daily and a wonderful breakfast. Our stay was in December; however, the beach, just across the street, would be perfect for... More

First, the location. Though slightly spoiled by recent urban sprawl the old town is charming and the hotel, some way from the town, has immediate access to a lovely beach with the Calabrian Hills rising above. We were there at the end of season, and it had that atmosphere: an elderly clientele and a half empty feel. But the staff... More

Our group just returned from 2 nights at the Hotel La Tonnara. The place is absolutely spotless. The rooms are very large and look out to the sea across the street. Each have a balcony to enjoy the sunsets. The bathrooms looked beautiful with new, high quality fixtures. The breakfasts were terrific with a wide variety of things to eat.... More

We stayed at the Hotel la Tonnara in Amantea in June of this year. It was our first visit to Calabria, namely Amantea, Campora San Giovanni and Cleto. We stayed six days and five nights. The price was one of the least expensive and greatest value throughout our three weeks in Italy and Sicily. The hotel was recently expanded and... More

My cousins & I made the family pilgrimage September 2012 to visit our maternal grandparents home in Paterno, Cosenza, Calabria and prior to the trip my cousin Michael made all our arrangements i.e. Air, rental car, hotels, etc. Suffice it to say he hit pay dirt booking us into the Hotel La Tonnara in Amantea, Italy, so much so that...
