This is one of the best kept secrets in the world for great food, especially the fish tacos, fabulous drinks (margaritas and Piña Coladas) with your feet in the sand on the beach with the sound of the waves, all delivered with a smile and English speaking service. This us a quiet and relaxing place with a real feel for... More

Las Brisas is a small hotel, maybe a dozen rooms, in Playa Chacala, a small Pacific coast village, maybe 300 people. If you are looking for an authentic Mexican vacation experience this will provide it. If you are looking for luxury or a mega resort with mostly Anglos, this is not your place. Chacala is a popular tourist spot, but almost... More

The staff here, both in the hotel and restaurant, were very helpful and friendly. If you were any closer to the beach, you'd be in the ocean. No pool, basic rooms, but this beach is wonderful. And so clean. Breakfast was included in our $650 peso/nite price. The only complaint I had was the food in the restaurant. The guacamole... More

I love this place. It is secluded and still very much Mexico. No strip-malls, discos, bars etc. The perfect place for a romantic get-away with a lovely beach. It is a small family run hotel with friendly people. If you want a special treat get a massage from Cielo - she is wonderful. I just hope that Chacala does not... More

Remember the movie Shawshank Redemption? Where Morgan Freeman's character finally gets to Mexico and meets up with Tim Robbin's character on a lovely undeveloped beach in Mexico? Well, that might have been Zihau in those days but in my opinion, in 2012 it is Chacala and Las Brisas is the place to stay. The beach is very clean and sheltered.... More

I have been to Las Brisas a few times and have always enjoyed my stay. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. The kitchen is accommodating to special requests and diets. Karla and Piedad have always made my stays special and I truly like family when I am there. Chacala is a small town and this helps any visitors to... More

It is a breath of fresh air to visit a community that is not overrun with tourism venues and where the culture has not been lost. Las Brisas is right on the beach in the most beautiful bay. The food is great, the service is excellent, the cocktails are marvellous and the hospitality is real and genuine and allows a... More
