We just had a short stay during easter hollyday at Villas Tuparaiso. The "village" is very rural with dirt roads and simple buildings surrounded by a very long beach and palm trees. You will not find ATMs and night time restaurants here, but at the rustique seafront restaurants you can enjoy fresh and very good seafood at daytime, and its... more

I have just returned from the most relaxing and wonderful holiday in years. Everything was as advertised or better. Having been to the area many times beginning in the 70's I was aware that Barra de Potosi is not a resort town. This is a rural Mexican village and has all the charm still attached. As other reviewers have mentioned... more

If you enjoy the All-Inclusive Hotel - Air Package Deal, then Barra de Potosi is not for you. My wife and I like longer stays at nice beaches with economical accommodations. For the latter, Villas Tuparaiso at Barra de Potosi fit the bill perfectly. We were at VT from DEC 15 2008 to JAN 23 2009 and we loved every... more

My husband and I just returned from a great trip to Mexico. The last 4 days we spend in the Villas-Tuparaiso in Barra de Potosi - a sleepy little village south of Zihuatenejo. Barra has several little stores selling basic stuff like bread, beer and bananas, and friendly people which are helpful, but keep to themselves. What we loved was... more

Villas Tuparaiso is a nice clean place to stay, away from the big city hotels. Of course everything is relative, and when we decided to visit this small fishing village, we have to consider the living condition of the local people. The only small issue we had was the warm temperature inside the unit during the warm summer - the... more

Booked two rooms here for my kids to stay during our wedding at beautiful Barra de Potosi. The rooms are large, very clean & the decor is absolutely beautiful. Short 2 min walk to the beach. We knew it didn't include breakfast but weren't prepared for the fact that there is nowhere nearby to get a bite to eat in... more

We have just returned from a long-term stay at this place. We were fortunate that last year we stayed there for 2 months and had the place entirely to ourselves. It was a great holiday. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our time there this year. Here are the problems we encountered in order of importance - from least... more

Great accomodations and hosts!! Villas very clean, spacious, comfortable. We stayed 1 month (Jan.-Feb.). Liked best the screened in patio/porch area and the shared kitchen. (only place around to offer this) The meals on the beach are great but too much for a longer stay. The beautiful, warm and sunny beach is a easy walking 2 blocks away. We spent... more

We have been to all the resorts, and this time we were looking for a typical Mexican place away from the resort hotels and this is were we stayed for a 2 weeks, we had a great time, the thing we loved the most was the good accommodation and its close proximity to the marvelous beach, which was just a... more
