Even though the hotel was beautiful, stunning scenery, and comfortable surroundings I won't come back here because when ordering a meal I was charged for sending the first back. I explained to the waiter that I could not eat it & he made it sound like the natural thing to order something else no problem but didn't make it clear... More

We had a brilliant one night stay in this hotel. From the moment I booked via telephone (my internet was misbehaving) through the very helpful receptionist Poppy, to the moment we left, we thoroughly enjoyed friend, efficient and helpful service. I took my elderly Mum and brother to this hotel and so glad I did. We had rooms 2, 6... More

This hotel has two restaurants, one fine dine; the Gallery and a less formal bistro style; the Garden restaurant which operates a first come first serve operation. Although it was busy we were immediately shown to a table in the window by a very charming and professional waitress The food overall was of very high quality? and this is mindvalue... More

We stayed at the Cavendish Hotel as part of our summer trip through England, and it is beautiful. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff are incredibly helpful and very welcoming, and it is ideal for a visit to Chatsworth as on the same grounds. We stayed in a standard room and wondered if we had been upgraded, as the room... More

My wife and I had to go to a funeral in the area, and thought it would be nice to pamper ourselves a little, this hotel was a good choice, and a good deal it was the, "ESCAPE ON SUNDAY" Deal One Double Bedded Room for 1 night(s) arriving July 2015 at the rate of £249.00 including Cavendish cream tea... Booked into this hotel for our 32nd wedding anniversary. Although the hotel was aware of our special occasion, interestingly another couple who were celebrating a special event had a complimentary drink or bottle of something as part of their evening meal - not that we were jealous!! Probably the most expensive hotel we have stayed in. Good quality throughout -... More

I spent 6 nights here to explore the Peak District and tour stately homes. Hotel is part of the Chatsworth Estate and all are free to walk through the extensive and beautiful grounds. The rooms are comfortably elegant and the bathroom was luxurious. Complimentary tea and coffee in the room (with a pitcher of milk in the minibar.). Staff was... More

We stayed there for 2 nights and had a very relaxing time. The room (14) was comfortable with tea and coffee facilities (lousy coffee) but fresh milk so great tea. Our room was nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Good bathroom. The cooked breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There is no gym or pool but with the wonderful... More

Stay here if you want the full Jane Austen experience. Refined decor and attentive staff in a boutique hotel that's on the grounds of one of England's grand houses. Our room overlooked a meadow with sheep out of central casting. And for an unexpected plus, they served the best hamburger I had this year.

Me and my mum stayed here for her 60th birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. We were sharing a standard room with 2 twin beds and the view from our room was lovely, the lawn and the fields beyond. On our first night we had dinner in the Garden Room, I had the Cod on a bed... More
