Decided to visit here for lunch after a cafe in Eyam was closed despite stating it was open on its web site, but that did us a good turn as I decided to have the afternoon tea and believe me those scones are some of the best I have tasted and with the view over the fields what more could... More

I have visited The Cavendish on many occasions and this is the first time I have been disappointed with the experience. I visited on a Sunday afternoon with four other ladies for a bite to eat and although the staff were very friendly and polite they just didn't seem organised. We were shown to our table in the Garden Room... More

I've stayed in some really great contemporary English hotels over the last couple of years, really starting to break the mold of poor value and old fashioned that has typically characterised hotels in this country. Unfortunately, the Cavendish is not one of them. Cavendish has a distinctly mature feel to it, we were the only couple below 50 I'd say.... More

My wife and I stayed at the Cavendish Hotel on July 29 & 30, 2014. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is charming with a great location; walking distance to the Chatsworth Estate. We also took a bike ride on the Monsol Trail which is an old rail right of way that has been converted into a bike path.... More

Lovely hotel. Staff is extremely helpful. Grounds are beautiful and vast. Property owned by Chatsworth Estate (Mr. Darcy's home). Local bus stop next door. Highly recommend. Next time in England will definitely stay there again.

Quintessential English hotel. Had a lovely lunch in the conservatory overlooking the lawns and fields. Good quality good and well presented. Staff friendly and helpful. Facilities very good. Large car park. Well worth a visit.

My mother and I stayed for one night on 31st July . When I booked to request an accessible twin room I was advised to upgrade to a superior room which was worth the extra especially with the tickets for chatsworth included. My only criticism is there could be better instructions for the car park on arrival and to have... More

We stayed at the Cavendish Hotel for one night. We booked a standard room and were pleasantly surprised at the size and décor. Staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival, which was nice since our room was located on the opposite side of the building from the car park. The proximity to the road was a concern for us but... The Hotel is situated on the main road as you drive through Baslow. We stayed for one night during the recent hot weather. Car parking and reception both located at the rear, with views overlooking Peak district. We arrived early as we were picking up tickets for Chatsworth. Receptionists were very friendly and helpful and once we had the tickets... More

This is bar far our favourite place to stay in the Peak District. The staff are amazingly attentive and no requests have ever been too much. We ate in the Gallery Restaurant which is by far the best local food around, and the Chatsworth marmalade at breakfast and freshly baked croissants are to die far. In my opinion the best... More
