This hotel is in a wonderful location very close to Chatsworth House. It is also convenient for visiting Buxton. Very comfortable bedroom with a lovely outlook over the Chatsworth countryside. Pre-dinner drink in the lounge (pity there is no lime for G+T – only lemon) and dinner in the Gallery restaurant - excellent. There is a gate in the stone... More

I had lunch here with a friend. We both complained re the chunky sandwiches due to their size ... thick bread like a builders lunch. Not what we felt would be served here. I complained for us both, threatened going on Trip Advisor, whereupon I was told..."oh a direct complaint to the chefwill be better". That is what I did,... More

We booked our stay at very short notice and it represented great value for money. The Cavendish is fitted out to a very high standard and the room we had was excellent in every respect. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. Cannot comment on the food as we had arrangements to dine elsewhere but we will certainly visit again.

We stayed on an Escape on Sunday break, as we were visiting Chatsworth on our way to Scotland. The welcome was friendly and efficient, and there was someone to take our bags and show us our room. This was large and with a wonderful view towards the estate, and had the added advantage that it was empty of people. We... More

Wonderful food, excellent friendly service and beautiful surroundings make this an amazing afternoon tea experience. We took up an offer in the local paper offering champagne with afternoon tea. the champagne was excellent and the pastries and scones were to die for. The staff were attentive and friendly, nothing too much trouble. It made a friends birthday outing very special.

We very much enjoyed lunch in the conservatory. We turned up at 2 without a booking and were greeted positively. All the staff were very good , service good. All our food was very nice - wines and beer selection good. Fantastic views. Will return

We have stayed at The Cavendish numerous times and decided following our most recent visit in September it was time for a review. This hotel is in a superb location on the Chatsworth Estate, just perfect for exploring the whole of Derbyshire. The hotel itself is warm and welcoming with a traditional country house feel. Our room was very pretty... More

Just spent 2 nights with some friends at the Cavendish Hotel - food was really fantastic, rooms very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful. Can't speak highly enough of the hotel, it suited our get together so well as not only was the hotel so good but there is so much to do in the surrounding area. I

We stayed at the Cavendish following our wedding in July. What a lovely treat it was! We loved our room with beautiful views and our-princess and the pea- bed! The staff were very welcoming friendly and courteous. We had a superb dinner and the breakfasts were lovely. We loved the fact that we could walk from the hotel to Chatsworth... More

When entering into the very nice traditional reception the receptionist recognise us from our previous visit and greeted us with a nice smile, and, a nice to see you again Mr and Mrs Palmer, our booking was already made out...
