Only of the hotels to stay in mt. Cook after a great drive. Loved the place and setting. Also do try the helicopter drive in the mountains which is absolutely something to cherish about. All in all a great romantic place with nice food. Loved it ..!

We spent one night on an auspicious birthday. Weather was superb with not a cloud or any wind, with cool but pleasant August conditions. Our room was a standard one with a Mt Cook view. Pros: * The standard rooms are quite luxurious and have obviously been refurbished in recent years with a high standard of amenities and decoration; *... More

Although there are other options in the locality, staying at the Hermitage Hotel is the best choice for views of the mountain. We booked a high floor superior room (Wakefield Wing) which was well worth it for the balcony and uninterrupted views of the ever changing landscape of Aoraki, particularly at sunset. The room was very spacious and comfortable. After... More

Dear Harry B. Great choice in booking a higher floor room, the view from most rooms are fantastic, but from your higher elevation as you mentioned the view is uninterupted, definetly the way to go. I apologize for the missing phone, however I am glad the team was able to slove your issue and with some compensation. The hotel is... More

Loved the hotel. The views from our 9th floor room were spectacular. The service in the bar and restaurant made Fawlty Towers look professional! Travelling with a group, which included children, we asked if there were any early bookings in the restaurant. We were told to book at 6.45pm as there was a busload of tourist booked at 7pm. We... We were very lucky to be able to stay two nights at this hotel directly after a period of very bad weather that had coated the park completely in snow. What we found was a magic land that more than fully matched our expectations. On booking the hotel we chose the all inclusive standard room and meals deal which almost... More

Dear Bevan Dunedin. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us from your stay at the Hermitage Hotel, Mt Cook. The snow covered landscape, with its pure white glow definitely a post card shot, this season the snow stayed for several weeks and create some great scenic pictures, delighted you were also able to enjoy from your room. Your comments... More

We chose to stay at the Hermitage Mt Cook due to its reputation. Over all it was pretty good, but we had heard so many good things about it, we had pretty high expectations. The location is stunning, the hotel appears as an architectural piece of significance, and its position in the middle of nowhere is unique. The room we... More

Excellent rooms and everyone with an outstanding view of Mt Cook. Roaring open fires in the reception and bar. A snowy winter wonderland outside. There isn't much not to like. The food was very good although the service was a little slow and spoilt what would have been a very nice dining experience. The breakfast the following day made up... More
