We stayed 9 different accommodations in New Zealand, and quite frankly, they were all very similar in room layout, age, and cost. Unlike most North American motels, most of the units we stayed in had a kitchen unit with cooking utensils and cutlery, usually along with a toaster and coffee maker. All of the units provided a few sachets of... More

It is good reward to have people notice the effort we put into cleaning. Thank-you. We are sorry you could not connect to the Wi-Fi system at Pinewood Motels. We checked the Wi-Fi immediately after you informed us at check-out that you could not connect. It seemed fine, and no other guest mentioned it. It was a shame you didn't... More

We stayed a night at Pinewood and we were late for check in. Gave a call to the motel and the hosts were so kind to wait for our registration even they do normally close at 8.30pm. On our arrival, we were welcomed with a big broad smile and the host already had our room warmed up. The room was... More

We stayed two nights at Pinewood in Fairlie as we couldn't get accommodation in Lake Tepako and so glad we did. We're coming to the end of our trip in NZ and staying here was what we needed. It was spotless, comfortable and quiet. We both slept well and felt so welcome there. I wanted to watch the NRL finals... More

I had one night in this motel in a family of three, for the star-watching at Tekapo. At first, I thought that it was trying to book a motel Tekapo, but sometimes the price is high for anywhere Motels,so I stayed in the motel Fairlie beside the Tekapo. (Distance to Lake Tekapo is 40km,and 30 minutes car driving.) Pinewood Motels is... More

Motels are generally not known as 5 stars, but is friendly over the top service is the standard, then this is 5 star! We had the room closest to the road, which was quiet enough for a delightful sleep. The room was impecably clean, with all the necessary amenities, and then some in the fully equiped studio. Heating was augmented... More

We stayed here one night and it was a perfect stopover on our NZ road trip. The owners gave us such a lovely and warm welcome on our arrival. The room was spacious and very cosy and comfortable... I stayed here for two nights while on work in the district, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. It is so much better than the accommodation in Lake Tekapo which is over priced for what it is. The units were quiet (even though it is on the main road) and clean and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this motel.... More

Pleasant country town motel perfect for a stopover between Queenstown and Mt Cook. Very spacious unit with lounge area. They will provide a DVD player and you can hire a DVD from one of the two service stations in town. Although on the main road there is no traffic at all after 8.30pm. The owner gave us such a warm...
