Motels are generally not known as 5 stars, but is friendly over the top service is the standard, then this is 5 star! We had the room closest to the road, which was quiet enough for a delightful sleep. The room was impecably clean, with all the necessary amenities, and then some in the fully equiped studio. Heating was augmented... More

We stayed here one night and it was a perfect stopover on our NZ road trip. The owners gave us such a lovely and warm welcome on our arrival. The room was spacious and very cosy and comfortable... Just what we needed after a long drive and being out in the cold. Even though its on a main road we... More

I stayed here for two nights while on work in the district, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. It is so much better than the accommodation in Lake Tekapo which is over priced for what it is. The units were quiet (even though it is on the main road) and clean and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this motel.... More

Pleasant country town motel perfect for a stopover between Queenstown and Mt Cook. Very spacious unit with lounge area. They will provide a DVD player and you can hire a DVD from one of the two service stations in town. Although on the main road there is no traffic at all after 8.30pm. The owner gave us such a warm... We stated ere as part of our NZ travels and on the eve of a wedding we were attending. Accommodation basic but was ok for one night, priced about right!!! We asked if possible for a later check out and were prepared to pay the late checkout fee that would be imposed if we were later, but they would not... More

Fairlie is definitely a better place (budget wise) than overpriced and overbooked Tekapo. Very gracious hostess who went out of her way to assist us in amending our booking dates, when we encountered last minute problems with dates. THANK YOU VERY MUCH... from Singapore. We will definitely recommend Pinewood Motels, Fairlie.

We chose to stay here after reading Trip Advisor reviews and being unable to book accommodation in Lake Tekapo. It was a good choice. We had a warm welcome from our hostess and an apology for the room being near the road. The motel room was spotlessly clean and tidy and well equipped with every thing needed. The beds were... More

We stayed here for two nights in March. It is reasonably priced, well equipped and spacious. The owners are friendly and helpful. The units must have been very impressive when new but, if ours was typical, could do with a bit of renovation. It was all looking a little tired and below the standard that we found in the better... Nice motel, comfortable bed and excellent heating which you need in the middle of the south island. The studio unit I had was spotlessly clean and spacious. The provision of plunger coffee was a bonus as lots of motels don't offer that. There was no iron or ironing board - you had to go to the laundry room to use... More
