We stayed at the one bedroom unit with kitchen in the Mountain House on 01 March this year. The hotel is only away from the "Arthur's Pass Walking Track" for 5 minutes of walking distance. The unit is clean and quiet though close to the main road. The reception is very polite and helpful during our stay.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom house. Bedrooms good size. Beds all made up. Kitchen roomy with plenty of utensils. Comfortable living area. Plenty of wood for fire if wanted. A good bike shelter safe from attacking keas. An easy walk to village. Would stay there again.

Stayed in a 3 bed house. It was clean and comfy but quite old. Extremely impressed with the wifi connection given our location. Not many places to stay so we were overall happy with our choice. We stayed he for 2 nights but to be honest 1 night is more then enough unless you are a serious hiker...

The place is good in general. It's clean, has free WiFi for YHA members, good location, etc. Too bad they use bunk beds, but that's common for most hostels in New Zealand. The reason I give this place 2* is the weird behaviour of one of the owners / guys in the reception. I took a shower in the building... More

Had a great stay here. Loved the big and clean the kitchen - cooking food here was so easy. Very comfy beds and cosy/warm upstairs lounge area. Free wifi and helpful manager. Recommend the Avalanche Peak walk while in town: excellent views! Also if you plan on doing your own cooking I recommend bringing supplies as the only shop in... More

We stayed at the cottage in a double room. The evening was quite cool so we had the fireplace running which made it feel very cozy. The kitchen is well equipped so you can enjoy your dinner in front of the fire place.

We've stayed Christmas Eve and Christmas in a spacious Double Room with a very comfortable bed. It felt like we didn't only book a Double Room but a whole homey big cosy house to share with just 2 other Double Rooms. The wood-fire was lovely on the rainy days and good for a warm Christmas feeling and the well equipped kitchen... Stayed 4 nights with two children. First impressions were that the bedroom was small but in fact it worked very well as there were plenty of hooks and just enough space for our bags. Bunk beds were very comfortable. Communal areas were spotlessly clean. Amenities are good. Great cafe next door serves excellent coffee and the The wobbly Kea is... More

To find accommodation like this, i.e. self contained motel style studio units in such a small and remote place, was very welcome - most of the other accommodation here caters for the many backpackers who walk the tracks in this region. They are very basic, but clean, bright and fresh. The bed was comfortable and the pillows soft - the... More

We had one of the "motel" rooms which are in a separate building on the other side of the main road from the main hostel building. These are quite new and very well set up - completely self contained with private kitchen and bathroom. It was very clean and had complimentary tea/coffee - really more like a motel experience rather... More
