El Mirador is a comfortable budget hostel with great sun deck and breakfasts. Recommended but no English spoken. Met by lovely older woman exuding welcoming vibes. Two blocks from city centre - nice and quiet. Reliable wifi.

Far enough away from the Plaza mayor to be away from the noise of the mototaxis, but a short walking distance along a direct route, with some typical restaurants, small tiendas and bars along the way. Feels quite safe. This budget hotel has both the traditional fan-cooled rooms, and newer air conditioned rooms. I stayed in one of the older... More

This is a spotless, friendly, quiet refuge in noisy Tarapoto. The staff is helpful and kind especially the grandmother who treats you like one of her children. We stayed in the new wing which is very spacious and bright with a bright yellow bathroom. Breakfast is delicious and is served upstairs on a balcony The balcony has a great view... More

This is one if the loveliest places we've stayed in Peru. It's sparkling clean, the showers are fantastic and the upstairs hammock area is just what you need to escape the sometimes oppressive heat of Tarapoto. The owner of the hotel is a charm, it's like being looked after by the world's kindest granny :) We would definitely stay here... More

Grandma and Frank where very helpful in finding out about ships leaving Yurimaguas for Iquitos and arranging a collectivo to get there. We booked two superior single rooms, which came... More

I spent three nights at El Mirador. I really enjoyed my stay there. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and my bed was comfortable. I had a good wifi coonection most of the time. The staff was very helpful and Señora Talma, the owner, is a delightful woman who runs a good hotel. My room was a little stuffy right... More

Great spot quiet and friendly. Will pickup from the airport as part of the service. Thelma the owner has her finger on the pulse. Best breakfast in all of Peru. The cost of a private room in the new building is a bit steep at S150 but has AC. There are other less costly options available. We stayed in room... More
