This lodge is in a great setting with wonderful views of the Huallaga river. We had two rooms - a suite and a twin room. The suite was excellent, although the jacuzzi shown in the web picture wasn't available- the floor was nailed down over where it might have been. It had aircon, and was a larger room than our... Bearing in mind, this lodge has no pretensions to be an all-service hotel, it is a very comfortable hotel on the banks of a river, 40 minutes from the nearest town. It is a beautiful setting. This is meant to be an eco-friendly place for relaxation and contemplation. There are no TVs, aircons, or minibars in the rooms, but they... More

We spent 02 nights in this magical lodge. We think that it is special for couple whose really want to rest, there is not TV in the rooms, that's perfect and the view of Huallaga River at night is perfect, there is just internet conection in comun areas like the swimming pool and the living room but sometimes even there... Astonishing experience. Wonderful lodge with everything my family needed to stay comfortable. The ++ is the view and the hotel. You feel like staying in the middle of the Amazon. The - is the cleaning. The room is perfect but it would be even better with more vacuuming.

We spent two nights at Pumarinri and were very pleased with the room, we thought that the owners have done a fantastic job. I have read the other reviews and feel that perhaps some of the authors are expecting the wrong experience from what is clearly a lodge in the jungle. The rooms are excellent but yes the eating area... More

Not quite the ecolodge we were expecting – it is close to a major road, the chlorinated pool, limited hiking options – but the view of the river and narrow, primal, lush emerald valley make this an ideal alternative to busy Tarapoto, which is about 40 minutes away. While we were there, one of the three buildings with rooms –... More

I have spent many nights at Pumarinri and it is a wonderful place. I cannot understand th1world saying they did not see any wildlife. They could not have looked around them. During the days there is plenty of birds, Pumarinri is a hotspot for frogs, plenty butterflies, skinks and even found a sloth in the trees around the lodge. At... More

(See also my review of sister properties under Hotel Rio Shilcayo, Tarapoto). I stayed at the three lodges (Rio Shilcayo, Pumarinri and Gocta Lodge) as part of a birding trip to North Peru in June 2012. We spent 5 days at Pumarinri. It has a great quiet setting away from human noise. The restaurant served good food, and the lodge... More

We did not see any wildlife. There was construction going on all day every day and the noise was not relaxing. Not very organized excursions, not very good communication. For example, the guide said we are going for a boat ride and then a small walk. Did not explain that small walk required full on hiking boots. There was no... More

You have to love this place, the bungalows, their food, the river and the pool, but on top of everything the place and the nature sorrounding it. You are in the middle of the jungle can see a lot of wildlife and flora. A must stay place!
