My husband and I spent two nights at the Puerto Palmeras resort in Terapota Peru. The hotel is quite nice. We did a one day trek organized by the hotel. It was very well organized. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and lunch were more than you can eat. All in all a great trip. It is only a... More

Absolutely pampered by their service, the hotel is really nice and it is the best hotel u can get in Tarapoto, the food is delicious, u feel that u are in Paradise. If u want to see the Waterfalls, do ur self a favor, get a cab, and for 5 soles, the exchange is about 3.15 per dollar, they will... More

The hotel is a a beautiful spread but that is where it stops. Ill list them in order. 1. The animals they claim aren't here, some birds and horses, which look malnourished. 2. There is NO AC, only fans in the rooms. Which is great at night but from 10am until about 9pm its pretty miserable. 3. The prices change... More

Wonderfully sculpted gardens, which are alive with bird-life and a great swimming pool to relax around. An excellent base in Tarapoto and convenient for the airport for when you have to leave this magical region... Highly recommended for all travellers

We were expected at the airport, and taken care of immediately. We received a delicious and refreshing coconut drink, fresh from a coconut even before we were taken to our respective rooms. The swimming pool, the lagoon with the "wild" animals (we only saw monkeys, and caimans a crocodilian related to the American Alligator) and all the surrounding are very... More

First time in Tarapoto. The place is close to the airport and also close to the city, but not in the heart of the city. The place is very nice, very big, it has horses, tennis court, basketball court and the pool area with the bar next to it. There is also a good restaurant and an extra bar. I... More

Short flight from Lima. on arriving straight away we new we were in for a difficult stay. Not one person spoke any English, Charades was the order of the day. Swimming pool, was OK. The whole place is old and in need of up-dating in every way. Our room was very clean which was the only good thing. Restaurant food... More

We travelled to Tarapoto during February 2009 & had a great time in general but we kept bouncing into the same problem, one of the girls in the desk did not want to comply to what was in our voucher and lied a looot in order not to deliver. The operator had to keep solving the problems, not only with... More

Puerto Palmeras used to be the best hotel in Tarapoto. However, the rooms have not been updated in years and the restaurant is more a cafe than anything else. The hotel is a great place to go for the pool and sun but not much else. It is expensive for what you get and the distance from Tarapoto is a... More

stayed one night here before setting off on a tour of the region. Nice peaceful grounds and just a short taxi ride from Tarapoto. I stayed in a suite that was really very nice, lots of room, a nice bathroom and plenty of hot water. Nice pool with a poolside bar. Had a good lunch and breakfast here but went... More
