This place was a real treat. I was looking forward to the outdoor swimming pool but at 4 degrees Celsius the water was too cold for me. But the Jacuzzi was a nice second choice. We were in room 107 which was an obstructed view so we moved to 111 which was great. It had full body jets in the... More

Stayed here for a week on a walking 'package' holiday with HF. The hotel is run efficiently and effectively by the family owners who give it a truly personal touch. Rooms large and comfortable, balconies with great views. Plenty of lovely food, French country cooking, well made, generous portions, good value dinner and large buffet breakfasts with plenty of choice.... More

We stayed at the La Chemenaz for a week - used it as a base for hiking around and in the French Alps. A nice hotel for families' hikers and nature seekers. The Hotel is nice, clean; the team at the desk - friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast (and a good restaurant for dinner). The only disadvantage - the hotel... More

Truly wonderful . A warm welcome . Fabulous room . Lovely swimming pool then into the jacuzzi to relax the legs . A sociable bar area where lone travellers could be included. Excellent food. I must mention the receptionist Julie , she couldn't have been more helpful . We only stayed here one night on the TMB but I can't... More

While on the tour we spent a night at this hotel in Les Contamines just outside of town but still on the trail. Very friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant with very good food, a luxury while on the trail.

We picked the hotel using Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The hotel is about a mile outside of town, which after a long day's hike was somewhat of a disappointment, but once we got there and settled in we understood that the extra effort was worth it. One pointer to the novice hiker; the hotels all expect you to... More

We stayed here on the 2nd night of our very wet TMB (8 of 11 days rained…or snowed) and that really makes you appreciate the boot drying room (aka the ski room). We were able to leave wet stuff in a space that was large enough to accommodate lots of wet gear, space is pretty limited in some locations, esp.... More

The hotel website might lead you to believe this is a luxury hotel. And in some ways it's great--The lobby is beautiful, the bar serves festive cocktails, and there is a pool. But it's not luxury by any stretch of the imagination. Our room seemed half renovated. The decor of our bathroom was dated. There was paint peeling off the... More

Having just walked TMB and stayed in numerous small hotels and refuges, this was the only disappointment. It is a basic ski hotel, clean, helpful staff and adequately comfortable room. The hotel website especially the photos depict this as a luxurious mountain hotel which it definitely isn't. More Premier Inn. The mismatch between the advertising and the actual hotel then... More

This is really a ski hotel and I imagine it's a great place to stay in the winter. I used it as a summer stop on my GR5 run. It is a mile or so out of the main old part of town and in a new and not so pretty area. Having said that there are some notable advantages.... More
