the New Inn is situated in the centre of very peaceful relaxing town of Winchelsea. our bedroom was a perfect place to relax, and listen to the clock chiming. The staff were pleasant. our evening meal was very nice but not memorable. the buffet part of the breakfast was basic, but cooked section was very good and generous, I hope... More

I wrote a review but clearly not being an internet head, I clearly managed not to get it on the site. I feel strongly about this place. so here we go again! Fundamentally, my experience of a short break has been more stressful than its worth. Not here! Travelling from Surrey by train was amazingly relaxing and easy. On arrival... More

My friend and I decided on a couple of days away from London and both having been to the area many years ago decided to re-visit. We travelled down on the train from London taking around 2 hours. The station is approx 1/2 mile from the New Inn. We had found the New Inn on one of the hotel sites... More

In spite of knowing the area well I had never been here before, too busy in Rye I suppose. However on Saturday I eventually came for lunch with my eldest son, his partner and two year old and my youngest son. The staff were delightful, friendly and efficient, we had a delicious lunch in the very pretty rear garden which... More

Winchelsea's a charming place in general, and the New Inn complements it perfectly. We arrived unannounced on a Bank Holiday Monday in a party of 4 adults and 4 children, and found plenty of space in the lovely 'secret garden'. The quality of the food was fine - we particularly enjoyed the burger and fish and chips. Staff were helpful... More

Just spent a lovely afternoon in the secret garden at the New Inn eating a fabulous Sunday lunch. Great food, lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Looking forward to a return visit soon and the chance to stay over and enjoy the full B&B experience.

I tried to track down your website to get in touch but could not so resorted to trip advisor. As someone who recently moved into the town I love the New Inn, the decor, the friendly staff, the gorgeous log fire, but wish it was just that little bit better. We visit every Friday and most Saturdays and I constantly... More

Stayed for one night in their Grand Double in Nov 2013. Have dined at this inn many times and adore the food, especially their New Inn burger (see my other reviews), but got the chance to stay here too. Room was £85 without breakfast which was nice they offered an option to have breakfast added or not as I never... More

We went to Winchelsea as I had been once before in the 1970s only to find that it hadn't changed at all - still very tranquil village. After stroll round looking at village, had mid morning coffee at New Inn - friendly staff. Had a look at menu and found lots to choose from. In all we went to eat... More
