Stayed here for one night while visiting the area . I had requested a room with a view which was supplied . It was at the back if the hotel and overlooked fields with sheep grazing and rabbits all around . Room was large and on 2 levels with a large bathroom with shower only but more than adequate .... The 'plus' sides of our stay at the Lodge included the cleanliness of the rooms and the efficiency of Toby, the manager. The beds were comfortable and the towels were very thick and fluffy. On the minus side, the continental breakfast was rather limited the only concession to healthy eating was the natural yoghurt and a bowl of apples and... More

Well, I have to say that we had the best views we have ever had out of a hotel, of rabbits and sheep. The room was nice but a little hot, and the staff friendly and helpful. The room wasn't cleaned properly on the first day, but not badly so. The breakfasts were nice, but my kipper on the first... More

Myself and my two children along with my friend and her three children stayed at the lodge and it was lovely. We booked two rooms and were next door. We checked in with our brood and were greeted warmly by the staff, they couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. We went up to our rooms and they were beautiful..lovely... More

This spotless hotel is great for visiting the Cinq Ports. A short albeit steep pathway takes you up to fascinating Winchelsea. It's on a main road but rooms are quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is excellent value - our steak pie was a home made treat rivalled only by the genuine sticky toffee pudding that followed. Simple things... More

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Accommodation is a bit like a motel. A good idea to include continental breakfast in room price and make cooked an extra. room was a good size, nice bathroom and plenty of storage space for three mature women. Excellent reasonably priced food available in the evening. You do need a car, really, although there is a bus... More

We used The Lodge as a centre to tour the area for four days as there are many National Trust and Heritage sites nearby, with easy access to coastal sites. The rooms were basic but good and very comfortable. The catering was excellent with a good and varied menu. The cooked breakfast even had me not wanting anything more until... More

Travelled to the area for the first time and we had booked an apartment nearby which was so filthy we couldn't stay. Then we asked a local who directed us to The Lodge. I wish I could find that mn again to buy him a drink. The Lodge has friendly staff lovely rooms, ours overlooked a field teeming with rabbits... More
