We stayed for one night in September and had high expectations. The Lodge is situated on a road which is fairly busy but we asked for a quiet room which was provided at the back. The room was very clean but it is rather like a motel setting. Our room was upstairs and although there was lighting on the stairs... More

We stayed here for two evenings in August as a family of four with 2 young children and we were very impressed. The location is excellent; it is a short walk to Winchelsea village and a 5 minute drive from the sea. There are excellent country and coastal walks into Rye we did based from the Hotel. It is also... More

We've visited the lodge for dinner as a large party of 9 whilst on holiday for the last couple of years and can't recommend it enough. We've had a fantastic experienced on all occasions. Our most recent visit was a couple of days ago on which occasion we bought along our dog. We were aware we would need to sit... More

My wife, daughter and two grandsons spent the holiday weekend at the Lodge in Winchelsea, East Sussex, five minutes from Rye and the coast. The Lodge was staffed by a very friendly "crew" who went out of there way to see they had everything they needed for a great weekend. The family room had everything they needed, plenty of tea and... I arrived on the Sunday evening and from the moment I stepped foot in my room it felt like home, the hotel is just outside Rye surrounded by fields so lovely and peaceful. I had booked a single room but I actually ended up with a double room so that was great. The room, are great, they are not actually... More

Stayed one night as meeting up with family at Camber Sands. The lodge is on the main road but we couldn't hear the traffic in the room. Great view of the countryside if you have a drink or meal outside. Impressed with the accommodation, it deserves it's 4 stars. Clean and comfortable. Food was served in an airy, modern building.... As a family of four (2 children aged 11 & 9) we wanted to book a last minute mini break - couple of nights away - we had already stayed in Rye before and really enjoyed it (family bike ride to Camber Sands, Rye High Street, cafes and antique shops). Obviously almost everywhere was full in August but when I... More

We were looking for an early dinner on our way back from a day out at Eastbourne, and stopped in at the Lodge as it looked clean and modern. The barman was extremely helpful and friendly, and the food was very tasty with good sized portions. As an added bonus it was extremely good value, with 3 mains coming to... More
