Stayed one night as meeting up with family at Camber Sands. The lodge is on the main road but we couldn't hear the traffic in the room. Great view of the countryside if you have a drink or meal outside. Impressed with the accommodation, it deserves it's 4 stars. Clean and comfortable. Food was served in an airy, modern building.... As a family of four (2 children aged 11 & 9) we wanted to book a last minute mini break - couple of nights away - we had already stayed in Rye before and really enjoyed it (family bike ride to Camber Sands, Rye High Street, cafes and antique shops). Obviously almost everywhere was full in August but when I... More

We were looking for an early dinner on our way back from a day out at Eastbourne, and stopped in at the Lodge as it looked clean and modern. The barman was extremely helpful and friendly, and the food was very tasty with good sized portions. As an added bonus it was extremely good value, with 3 mains coming to... More

Stopped here for Sunday dinner after visiting Hastings. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and the food was delicious. Good price, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. There was a choice of beef, turkey and gammon and plenty of fresh vegetables. The Yorkshire puds were homemade and veg cooked very well. No aunt Bessie's rubbish here!

we were checking in late, just because we were passing by, but had an perfect room with three beds. It had a nice atmosphere with small stairs and different views. It is near a road but that didn't buttered us at all. Perhaps if you stay longer it will. The host was very friendly and the breakfast is certainly okay.

We had a lovely time recently in Sussex and this place was good as a base to explore the surrounding area. When we arrived the room was functional but looked a little tired, the shower very good. There was a faint smell of urine in the bathroom though as if it hadn't been cleaned properly. My husband felt it was... More

Sadly our booked family room was not as expected. The room itself was as could be expected considering the price (beds ok, toilet not working). However it was not overlooking lovely hills but the ever busy road. As it was warm we opened the windows only to find all kitchen noises and the road noises floating in. The hotel itself... More

Our stay at the Lodge has been wonderful. It is set in beautiful peaceful countryside with sheep and rabbits in the fields next to it and we particularly enjoyed watching the sun go down over the hills each evening. We kept the window open to get plenty of country air. The room was simple but well appointed with free wifi... More

We were on a week's holiday in hastings, we began our week on the 12th July 2014 at the Highlands Inn. On Monday the 14th we checked out (refer to my review for the Highlands Inn to find out why). We were passing the lodge on Sunday the 13th and decided to call in for a carvery, it was lovely... More
