Description as on the tin. We spent a weekend here. Lovely welcoming couple who could not do enough for us. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The room was very comfortable with all the amenities. Superb location to visit Winchelsea. We had the Rye View room and would make the following additional comments. The patio was not what we would... More

This was our first B+B for our 10 dys travel though the U.K.. We stayed 3 nights and Owners and Staff were ever so friendly. Perfect rooms, although we did not stay in house itself which is typical old Tudor style with very low ceilings, but stayed in annex, modern and full of todays comfort. The only negative point is... I have stayed at Strand House a number of times, both in the main house and the cottage. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the cottage has excellent views over the marsh. The rooms have tea facilities with homemade biscuits, toiletries and a fluffy bathrobe to wear. Hugh and Mary are very welcoming and happy to cater for gluten free diets,... More

Exactly as expected from a Tudor building; full of character with really interesting features and a beautiful Japanese garden. The rooms were clean, cosy and welcoming with all amenities on hand. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and the food was fabulous. The perfect location for a relaxing, romantic stay. We will most definitely be booking a return... More

This House is disapointing because the location is very close to the main and busy road, and the rooms are tiny. The ceilings are so low that it's difficult to stan up... To avoid absolutely. The price is too high for the location.

We are very sorry that this guest did not enjoy their stay with us but he did not tell us he was having problems with his room. In fact he had been upgraded to a better room and had he asked he could have had one with high ceilings and if he did not want to stay in the Tudor... More

This is a wonderful little hotel, built in the 1400's with a lot of character. The beds were very comfortable, Then service was excellent. Breakfasts were excellent , and the meal on Saturday evening was better than on any cruise ship.

Last summer we stayed a few days at Strand House. It couldn´t be better. The rooms were cosy, the staff extraordinary nice and the breakfast superb. Loved the cat who was greeting us every evening. A superb accommodation. Enjoyed it very much and we can´t wait to come back next year :-)

Took my family to Strand House to celebrate my Mother and Father In laws 50th Wedding Anniversary. We had a lovely stay and Mary and Hugh and there team were amazing. They made us feel so welcome and treated my in laws so kindly and nothing was any trouble. They had Flowers in their room and Champagne on Ice waiting.... More

We only stayed the one night but found the room, facilities and breakfast first class. Mine hosts are very welcoming and anxious to please. Used to living in very old properties, we loved the house and all of its features. We kept one of the bedroom windows wide open all night and were not disturbed by the traffic as some... More

Stayed here August 2013, and found that unfortunately it was close to a busy main road. Expected something special for the B&B price they charged, but the experience was just average so not really value for money. Also concerned about uncovered food left close to open door in hallway, with insects flying around. Felt it was somewhat pretentious - purporting... More
