We stayed for two nights in the lovely farmhouse, surrounded by sheep and stunning views over the marshland to the sea. Sally made us very welcome and comfortable, and this is clearly a busy working farm with a harvest to bring in. Our bedroom, looking out over the garden to New Gate and the sea, was very comfortable, breakfast good,... More

While Sally runs the B & B, as well as working the farm, Mason and son are about with a ready smile and cheery word. The rooms are situated in a 16th century building, still with all it's character and charm. They are clean, tidy and ready supply of tea etc. including biscuits. Bathroom is basic but clean and plenty... More

We stayed here with our toddler son, and were made very welcome. The farmhouse is in a beautiful spot overlooking the English Channel, and we enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm. A great base to explore the Cinque Ports.

One of the great B&Bs in a stunning location. 16th Century National Trust manor house full of character set in a working farm. We booked at very short notice but absolutely no problem. Sally Palmer was a delightful and welcoming hostess who really cares about her guests. Spacious bedroom with a very comfortable four-poster bed with spectacular views towards the... More

Sally and Mason opened up their home to us when my daughter and myself stayed at their lovely farm house. We booked at very short notice, and were immediately welcomed and made to feel as part of the family. The bed was very comfortable; the attention to detail was lovely; the breakfasts yummy and both Sally, Mason and Robert always... More

This is a working farm with an amazing history. But the guest is not made to feel very special or valued. Clarence the 12 year old sheep and the owner's son were our welcoming committee. On the plus side, the bed was the most comfortable in the country and the sense of history is humbling.

Do stay here for: -Peace and quiet in a rural setting. -A real sense of history in the property. -Quirkiness - a pet 12yo ram called Clarence and Harry the breakfast dog. Don't stay here if you are looking for: -Attention to detail and cleanliness. -You want to feel like a valued guest. - A good breakfast. This is a... More

We only stayed one night but will definitely return for a longer stay. The manor and grounds are stunning and we loved the feeling of utter remoteness despite the bustling town of Rye being only a few miles away.Sally was a charming host and we would love to have tried their wine and explored more of the working farm and... We stayed four wonderful nights at Wickham Manor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sally was extremely hospitable and showed us to the Tudor Room. This was a beautiful room overlooking the front of the house and the yard and attracted the evening sun. Our room had a four poster bed, en suite facilities and had plenty of storage space. The...
