We booked for two rooms as four of us were staying one night at this hotel and we also booked for an evening meal. Wow we thought when we arrived as it looked a lovely place to stay. On arrival the reception staff were super, but we found, we assume the Head Waiter, to be quite surly, although very efficient.... More

Good points - Nice clean comfortable bed, very quiet, friendly staff, cheap on a Groupon deal. As someone else mentioned it is the little things that good hotels pick up on and fix - Radiator thermostat broken in 'on' position so room (8) too warm, limescale in toilet which was very clean otherwise looked horrible, hair dryer not working. I... More

So the wife and I stayed here for Valentine's weekend. We were very impressed with the look of the room which was an old converted farm. The initial good impressions were dashed by the noises in the room. There was a family staying upstairs and everytime they moved we could hear every sound, then t there was the bed, every... More

I have to say, we eat out two or three times a week and this was our first time here, it was spot on!! My wife and I came to escape the city with a little downtime before the Christmas rush. We were guests at a friend's summer wedding here last year and had such a nice evening in the... More

Visited with friends for a christmas get together. I must say this place has come a long way over the years. Atmosphere was lovely. Really cosy and intimate. Crisp white table linen. Quality furnishings. Rooms were unique with a boutiqueee feel. Food still up to its usual great standards . We all could agree the service is impeccable. Yes half... More

Really looking forward to a Christmas meal with the family at The Royal Arms! - Sadly, was very disappointed; Starters and sweets were average only but main course (I had the turkey) was short on both quality and quantity. Prices are not cheap at The Royal Arms and this meal was frankly under whelming for a hotel with a good... More

We had a rather disappointing stay at the Royal Arms. We stayed for two nights in December. As a special occasion I had upgraded our room to a four poster room. The room in the barn conversation was quite small and certainly not worth an extra £25. Indeed the room was so small that there was only space for one... More

We had an overnight stay. We were part of a group of 10. Lovely old hotel, bedrooms at the rear in the old Stable block. The room was very comfortable with beautiful views over the Leicestershire countryside. We had an evening meal, a good choice on the menu and a delicious dinner. This hotel is not too far from where... More

Our room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the floorboards in the room above were extremely creaky and I have never know anyone walk around a room so much, so early on a Sunday morning. This did rather spoil an otherwise decent night's sleep. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but sat in the bar for a while.... More
