We have just returned from the Hitchin Priory after three nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel looked great and sounded good, our expectation was high as when we booked we had the last rooms, apparently:) upon arrival we were checked in,and usually we go through the routine of stating which newspaper we need and if we would... The Priory is predominantly a conference centre which also lets rooms out and does weddings. Room was OK and breakfast the same. It is a bit like reviewing a Travelodge there was not much to say

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting family in the area. Paid £55 for a double room with breakfast. Were told this was a cheap rate as there were no weddings taking place in the hotel that day. The hotel is centrally located for all that the town has to offer and is set in beautiful gardens. The building itself... More

Pleasant hotel next to Hitchin's main drag. Very nicely redone, great breakfast buffet, functioning wifi, and small but nice and clean room. I also was at the Node before it closed, and I do t understand why people are so adamant that the Node was superior. My room there was old and shabby, the one at the Priory is nice... More

Me and my partner stayed at this Hotel on Saturday 9th June, and from the out side it does look very nice. Also for what they put on for our friends out side was also nice. The room we was given on the day though was not good, and when we went down to complain we was told as there was two... More

This will be the third time that I have brought my work colleagues to the Priory, so they are definitely doing something right....... The Pros - Steeped in history (it is an old Priory!) to make it interesting with acres of gardens at the back and a short walk to the town from the front. The conference rooms are in... More

Pros: An attractive building, with lovely grounds and very convenient for the town centre (which is also very pleasant). The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Reasonably priced, easy to find and with convenient parking. Cons: The room we were in was looking a bit shabby. Decor and furniture is very dated and could do with an overhaul. There were... More

Stayed for a wedding on the 5th May 2012. Even though the place does need refurbishment it is still good. The staff are helpfull and friendly and breakfast was one of the best we have had in a hotel for a long time. The hotel is situated in such a good place. within a two minute walk from the town...
