My partner and I booked the hotel through Hotels.com and were unsure what to expect but the photos of the rooms and hotel looked great! We stayed in the Studio room. We requested wine in the room as it was my partner's birthday. We discovered in our room sparking wine (in an ice bucket), complimentary home made chocolate truffles and... More

Hotel in need of refurbishment but our room was quirky, clean and comfortable. However, one evening we were locked out ,having not been given a key to the outside access door to our 'annex'. Neither emergency telephone number was responded to and it was only because the kitchen area of the hotel remained unlocked (presumably inadvertently) that ,eventually we were... More

We stayed for two nights on an online voucher deal and weren't disappointed. It is evident from the beginning that the hotel is in need of a revamp, however the staff are aware of this and had put signs up apologising for any inconvenience during our stay - we had no problems. We stayed in the Rookery and had great... More

4 of us stayed in 2 rooms on a wet and windy weekend but had a great time as e.g. Elan Valley was even more dramatic than usual. Beds were all super comfortable, food was great (especially the bacon at breakfast and my steak) Our thanks to the new owners who honoured our booking, even though they have taken on... More

Lots of work needs doing to this hotel inside and out but with how rude the staff are and their attitudes I don't think people will be returning as I certainly won't be visiting again. Total shame as with the right people this could be a lovely hotel in a lovely location.

Our weekend stay at Brynafon was a groupon gift so we weren't sure what to expect. Upon arrival we found the grounds are in need of some work but hopefully will be carried out in warmer weather. We were welcomed by the staff and shown to our room. We had to walk outside to an annex which on first impressions... More

A old and quirky building but kept very clean and tidy by the new owners. Very nice people and very welcoming and accommodating. Room 1 was a reasonable size with a en suite shower/toilet. Bed and sleep was good. Breakfast good but the owner did struggle to serve everyone single handedly. We did not eat/drink in the evenings but walked... More

We used Ncrowd vouchers to stay at this hotel along with 2 other couples. The rating of average is based on the amount we paid, which wouldn't have bought breakfast in many hotels. Most of the staff were very pleasant, the rooms were clean, but our room was very small with minimal storage, cold, and the bathroom very cramped. The... More

I was extremely disappointed when I walked in - the area around the front door what extremely dusty with very old cobwebs in evidence. The reception was just an old office area, which was not being used, basically a 'hole' in the wall. Our room was spacious, but furnished with old furniture that quite frankly was tatty rather than shabby... More
