Booked in January for one night warned about noise from carnival. Arrived hotel looked grubby and very tired, as we walked to room, could smell drains! once in room smell was worse. Double bed, which was dreadful. En suite squeezed into room, curtain hanging off bent curtain rail. We laughed all of this off, went out for meal. Went to... More

I don't know where to begin. 144 for two nights. We got a room with a wardrobe style slatted door between the bathroom and bedroom. The wardrobe itself had two missing knobs. And the bed appeared to be a scale model of the Brecon beacons that saw me bracing myself all night against falling off as it sloping so much.... More

The first thing that put us off was the difficulty in getting into the car park. We entered through the back of the hotel which was less than scenic to say the least. After checking in we were left to find our way to our room. After having a look around we decided that it was not for us as... More

We walked in for a quick drink and weren't even acknowledged by kitchen staff behind bar who continued to serve locals. He then walked out the back to get the bar maid to serve and we heard her say she wouldn't be serving yet as she wasn't getting paid. The pub smelt of public toilets and looked awful, so we... More

We stayed here for one night and were very disappointed. This place is very shabby, tired and run down despite a so called recent face lift. After check in we were left to find our own way to our room which was clean on the whole although it did smell strongly of something like 'shake and vac' or plug in... More

Booked this as only one left available in the area; Arrived 9.45 pm & was given the keys to room 7, this must be the hottest room I have ever known ! One small window opened & one small fan was all the ventilation / cooling available. I asked for another fan - none available and no other rooms so... More

We booked this hotel as a last minute booking and confused it with the Élan Valley Hotel which is situated just outside of Rhayader. First impressions was of a tired dated hotel but with a happy bunch of staff who were very welcoming. We stayed for three nights and for all those nights I decided to park my car elsewhere... More
