I was part of a group of friends on a weekend away. We had an excellent dinner on the Friday night. The breakfast was superb and Paul and Laura could not do enough for us. The rooms were nice and the beds very comfortable.

We stayed in this guest house for three nights. Staff were polite and welcoming and the bedroom reasonably comfortable, but a bit cluttered. Disappointing factors were the strict hours imposed for breakfast (7:30 - 9:00), the noise from both the street and neighboring rooms, and the constant "beeping" of the faulty fire alarm that want unfixed for two near-sleepless nights.... Made welcome. Room very good and comfortable - shared shower WC for the single room very good. Breakfast good - excellent coffee. No problem having early breakfast. Wireless internet very good but an open network. Most rooms are en suite but if you are on your own the single room is more than adequate and the bathroom is right next... More

I recently stayed in the Horseshoe for 3 nights with my husband and 2 year old daughter. Having had a terrible experience on our 1st night in Wales (pre-booked accommodation) I arrived on Pauls doorstep early in the morning desperate for a room! With this being Royal Welsh Show week, I was less than optimistic about finding somewhere but as... More

The Red Kites at Gigrin Farm pull us to Rhayader and so does the Horseshoe Guesthouse. It is a family run business, Paul and Laura. Paul is a fabulous host. All the rooms are wonderful and the home cooked breakfasts are worth getting up for. Nothing is too much trouble. We go there several times a year.

Our cycling group stayed at this excellent guest house on a recent tour of Wales. Clean rooms, excellent food, bike storage and a very helpful host. A nice central, but quite location in Rhayader. Thanks Paul for making our stay so pleasant.

This was our second visit, we previously stayed approximately two years ago. You can be assured of a warm welcome and friendly family attention throughout your stay. It is well situated in the town with off road parking. It is a very short walk to the bike hire shop, cafe's, shops and pubs. It is a good base to explore... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night to break up the drive from South to North Wales. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our comfortable clean room. Breakfast was delicious!! Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here twice, as a base for doing the Wye Valley walk. We couldn't have found a better place. Cooked breakfast got full marks from all of us, on the one night we ate in, Paul cooked us an excellent meal, and the small wine list is good value too. Rooms aren't big but they're comfortable (check on facilities,... More
