I recently stayed in the Horseshoe for 3 nights with my husband and 2 year old daughter. Having had a terrible experience on our 1st night in Wales (pre-booked accommodation) I arrived on Pauls doorstep early in the morning desperate for a room! With this being Royal Welsh Show week, I was less than optimistic about finding somewhere but as... More

The Red Kites at Gigrin Farm pull us to Rhayader and so does the Horseshoe Guesthouse. It is a family run business, Paul and Laura. Paul is a fabulous host. All the rooms are wonderful and the home cooked breakfasts are worth getting up for. Nothing is too much trouble. We go there several times a year.

Our cycling group stayed at this excellent guest house on a recent tour of Wales. Clean rooms, excellent food, bike storage and a very helpful host. A nice central, but quite location in Rhayader. Thanks Paul for making our stay so pleasant.

The Owner Paul is very welcoming and a Gentleman.... I was offered a hearty meal in the evening and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Rooms clean and well maintained. Good value for money. The accommodation is very close to Elan Valley reservoirs. Will return surely

This was our second visit, we previously stayed approximately two years ago. You can be assured of a warm welcome and friendly family attention throughout your stay. It is well situated in the town with off road parking. It is a very short walk to the bike hire shop, cafe's, shops and pubs. It is a good base to explore... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night to break up the drive from South to North Wales. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our comfortable clean room. Breakfast was delicious!! Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here twice, as a base for doing the Wye Valley walk. We couldn't have found a better place. Cooked breakfast got full marks from all of us, on the one night we ate in, Paul cooked us an excellent meal, and the small wine list is good value too. Rooms aren't big but they're comfortable (check on facilities,... More

A nice clean hotel with an incredibly friendly welcome. We really enjoyed the three nights we stayed here and Paul cooked us a lovely meal on one of the nights. Loads of pubs to eat out if you want. It's well located for mountain biking in the Elan Valley and there's bike storage available.

Greeted by Paul on arrival for my one night stay. Had a single room. Good size and very clean. Plenty of pubs locally to eat at. Breakfast hot and fresh. Very cosy hotel in a picturesque part of Wales. Thanks Paul the mountain road was great.

The first of 3 nights in 3 different hotels across Wales. This one was always going to be a short stop, with a late evening arrival followed by an early start before breakfast. A good size room with wet-room. Helpful host. The town seemed pleasant with a large number of pubs serving food and friendly locals. We were in town... More
