We have just returned from a wonderful week away... Our first three nights we spent at white cliffs. We have had a lovely time. I do note some of the reviews... rooms are a little small and perhaps in need of a little TLC - walls do seem thin but didn't bother us as only had a neighbour one night...... More

This was just a random night away for us, and the staff really help provide a wonderful experience. They helped me pick out a special dessert for my boyfriend ahead of time and had it delivered to our room. Reception was lovely and warm when we arrived, and it had the feel of an inn with a bit of bustle... More

Myself and my partner had a Secret Escapes deal for this hotel and were looking forward to having a relaxing night away, this wasn't possible. I didn't go to sleep until 5am(!!) as the walls are paper thin so I could hear everything (I mean everything) that the rooms next to us were doing. Also, I don't think that you're... More

We stayed overnight for my birthday. My husband had been ill and was looking forward to a relaxing stay. The welcome was warm and we were soon seated near the log fire with a welcome drink and sandwiches. Do try the ball park chips- skinny chips with the addition of garlic and parsley. The room was comfortable with quality toiletries... More

This hotel has a lot of character and lots of history. It was really charming and quaint and had a great atmosphere. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was really good and the service was great both in the restaurant and the reception/bar area. The rooms could do with a bit of sprucing up, but they... Staff very friendly and accommodating. The food also very good. However the rooms are a little tired. Bed clean and fresh, good towels and nice toiletries. Not sure that the website is a true reflection of the hotel though.

Thanks for your lovely words about our staff team. It really is the most important element of running a successful hotel. We work tirelessly to make sure you guys are happy. We also love the fact that you like our food. We’ve also taken on board the comments regarding décor and modernisation. We are currently in the process of our... More

My husband and I stayed for my birthday weekend as a rare no-kids trip. The welcome was warm and the staff were friendly. The rooms are stylish, spacious and comfortable. And the restaurant/bar had a great atmosphere. It's a nice walk to a pretty pebble beach and an easy drive to the white cliffs - lots of great views around.... More

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room a little tatty. Good bar and restaurant facilities. Plenty of parking. Great location for the ferry and for long blustery walks. Also a couple of nice traditional bars/restaurants in the same village. Garden out the back looks like a lovely place for a summer evening.

Relatively charming little hotel in St Margaret's Cliffe, outside the grey sadness of Dover (often referred to as one of sections of the world's colon - and best avoided..). We're staying here as a family, so get to see some of the rooms.. They are spotlessly clean, warm and basic, but with very creaky beds and not too much sound... More

Thanks for your feedback. We ourselves struggle to classify what we do. Yes, we have a lovely restaurant and a buzzing bar/pub atmosphere. But at the same we have 18 bedrooms and are open for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner 7 days a week. We call ourselves a hotel but yes, we could also call ourselves a... We booked a one night stay via Secret Escapes - the double room we were given on checking in was in the annex, which was very average / tired in decor with a small bathroom that could have done with some modernisation. It wasn't until we came home that I realised we had actually paid for an Executive room (which... More

We note that you stayed in a Coastal Class room as opposed to an Old School room on 13th December 2014. Please accept our sincere apologies for the error, it appears that one of the team placed your booking in the wrong category on initial booking and the same team member coincidentally checked you in and should have picked up...
