The room was charming with a spacious feel, beams and high ceiling, the bed very comfortable and shower efficient. All was clean and well presented. The staff were very polite and helpful. As we came in late from a party in the nearby parish hall the noise from the bar below didn't really worry us. We would come again.

Visited greyhound for lunch, they had fixed price lunch which looked very reasonably priced but nothing took our fancy so turned to a la carte. Nice selection but little expensive. We had duck and cannon of lamb. Both very tasty and well presented but vegetables were extra. Plenty for a lunch, you would have room for desert at dinner. Probably... More

This Inn is very easy to find, but be warned it is right next to a main road so the rooms overlooking can be a bit noisy. Checking in was very easy, and our room was very quaint. There was a distinct lack of electrical sockets and the only one there was had lots of stuff plugged in already. Wifi... More

Honestly, this place could be perfect if it were not for the rock hard beds. The service is really outstanding, the bar is lively, the rooms are cozy (like staying in a charming well-kept museum), the surroundings quaint and the food absolutely amazing. But to wake up in pain because of the hard beds makes me personally second guess whether... More

Thank you for teh review. I will check the matresses. I guess your comment is right - we do tend to buy firm mattresses, but they should not feel hard. We appreciate the feedback. More

Ok so first impressions; I had to walk past the smokers on the front area to get to the front door. They were young, loud and in some respects intimidating. The reception wasn't immediately obvious and is accessed past the main bar. Having identified my room, I walked the crealy stairs of this charming building to the end of the... More

Thank you for your detailed review. We are aware there are sound issues - in part as an old building and in part being in a village centre location. I will follow up re the use of the grounds at 4 am as our night porter should request the people to be quiet. More

Stayed here overnight in a double room. Luckily one night. I know pubs are noisy, but this was noise coming from all directions. Blaring musicfrom down stairs and loud drunk peoplefrom the windows. There is also a weird vibrating felt through the floor and makes a constant rattling all through the night. The room and service was great, just if... More

Thank you for your review. i am glad you liked the room and the service. it is a very busy pub. Combine that with the acoustics of a 17th century building and of course the sound does travel. I hope it did not spoil your stay. More

We stayed one night here. Our room was right above the pub and looking out onto the road junction. Good points: friendly staff and locals, real ale, cooked breakfast, olde worlde style rooms, with modern bathroom, free parking, free wifi, clean, comfortable. Bad points: very noisy in the room until closing time.

Thank you for the good review - it is a pub with rooms rather than a hotel, so your comment is fair! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. More

We visited for a family lunch today, greeted with only 2 menus for a table of 5. The menu was poor with very little choice and only one vegetarian option. We waited forever for our drinks and the food was average. The vegetarian option of risotto was both cold and under cooked. The service was very slow and the food... More

Visited for lunch with our dog. Friendly helpful staff who provided a bowl of water for our dog. Can highly recommend the club sandwich which is stacked full with chicken bacon and egg. and fries - delicious!

I am so glad you liked the Club sandwich. I insist on it being on the menu, despite perhaps being a bit old fashioned, because it is a great classic. Do come again. More
