My sister and I went to Tobbercurry from the United States. We wanted to find the house our grandmother grew up in and meet any relatives that might still be there. We booked a room at Murphy's Hotel. I contacted the Manager Paul Murphy to ask if he might be able to help us. Before we arrived, he had found... More

We have just stayed at this hotel on a short break and we have had a fantastic time despite the rain. The rooms are clean and spacious with the most comfortable beds ever in a hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful even providing a meal after the carvery had finished. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who... More

My partner took me to visit his family and we stayed for one night in Murphy's, it was lovely place to say, my partner is very tall and we struggle to fit into a double bed, so we normally book twin, but he forgot and they moved us to a twin room with a double bed also, which was a... More

First visit to Ireland. Arrived by rental car with no reservation. I jokingly introduced myself to Mary Murphy as her cousin from America....and she gave us tea and cookies and Irish coffee and would not accept payment...."You're in Ireland now" she said!! Location was in the center of town and made for a great evening walk and pub tour. Room... More

I stayed here recently and found the room to be of a good size, quiet, all basics provided. Some things could be better - there was a very small shower cubicle, in an otherwise decent sized bathroom i.e. the shower could be much bigger. Also, the shower doors have to be physically and forcefully dragged together, and I wondered whether... More

Dirt and hair in the first bed meant a move to another room but unfortunately the 2 beds in that room had hairs in them so after reluctantly agreeing to stay there if the sheets were changed..... later on when it was too late to leave, the full extent of the filth in the bathroom became clear, dirt/dust/hair etc don't... We strongly disagree with the above comments. We are a family owned and managed hotel and take great pride in the amount of repeat business we get. We do keep high standards of cleanliness in the hotel and are shocked and saddened to see that someone could say these things. Please read previous reviews that people have written about us.... More
