This guest house is very nicely decorated downstairs and there is a very welcoming restaurant with good food (dinner and breakfast). However, the toilets downstairs smelt bad and needed a good clean (not very welcoming). We had Irish coffees which was nice apart from the whipped squirty cream on top. The room we stayed in was nice and clean but... More

This is an outstanding hotel, which is family run, that provides everything that is required, for either a short or long stay. I would recommend this hotel, as the accomodation and food, were brilliant

We stayed at Murphy's hotel for 2 nights. Rooms were spacious and clean, and there was little noise to disturb anyone. There is a big secure car park at the back, which is always a comfort when you have a hire car. The staff were helpful and courteous, though sometimes service was a little slow, which wasn't really the end... More

We stayed 2 nights here recently. The staff were very friendly when we checked in. The room was at the back of the hotel and was quite big and spacious. There was a double & single bed in our room. Bathroom was good size (no bath tub, only a shower), bright, clean and modern. Very quiet room, no trouble with... More

I stayed in Murphy's Hotel while attending a wedding at Kilronan Castle, which involved 1 night at Murphy's, the next at Hill House, Keadue, and the night after that back at Murphy's. They were more than happy to accommodate this. The rooms were nice and large, breakfasts excellent and staff polite. There was even a false alarm at 1.30am, for... More

The food was average for a rural pub. I met the rudest waiter here that I have probably ever encountered. The only unoccupied tables had not been cleared and he snarled at me when I asked if there were any clean table available. So, I would not be recommending this place for its cleanliness or its service.

I stayed in Murphy's Hotel while attending the South Sligo Summer School and can say without reservation that it is an excellent hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped, the food was of a good standard and the ambiance was warm and friendly. The staff went out of their way to make their guests feel at home and...
