Located very near the train station. Thank you to the staff of this lovely hotel. Also a nice restaurant as part of the building. Staff very helpful, on the day we checked out kept our luggage until we returned that evening.

We had such an awful start to our holiday in Italy, an ended up not knowing where to go, although we had paid for and booked a villa! Hotel La Vela was our rescue indeed. Such a sweet and loving owner of the hotel, Silvia. She is the most perfect host of all hosts. She helped us out in a... More

I have had dinner various times at the nice restaurant of hotel La Vela. The owner Silvia, is the nicest host I have met in a very long time. She is smiley, telling you stories of the village and always has nice recommendations. The food is always nice and you have a huge choice and a very fair price. The... More

We spent a night at La Vela during a one week bike tour of Umbria last October. We had a great stay. Rooms were large and comfortable and the restaurant served delicious local specialties. Silviana was a terrific host and Passignano is a beautiful lakeside town.

Mrs Silvia Pepino, who runs the hôtel, pays a lot of attention to the well being of her clients. In a quiet area of Passignano, her hotel is linked with a restautant runned by her husband, a pizzeria which proposes good lake and sea fish specialities at a very reasonable price. It is not very far from the train station... More

Our daughter was recently married in Cortona and the reception was held at Villa San Crispolto just up the hill a bit from Hotel La Vela. The wedding guests that were not staying at the villa stayed at Hotel La Vela. All of our guests were pleased with their rooms and they were reasonably priced. However, the rooms are not... More

We were able to book this hotel for 7 nights at a price of only 50 EUR/room/night, breakfast included. If you take into account that many hotels charge about 10 to 15 EUR for breakfast, then our stay turned out really cheap. The hotel is perfect for those who do not expect too much luxury and just want to go... More

The hotel as a building is a bit tired and could do with some updating, but it's central, spotlessly clean and so perfectly managed. Breakfast could be improved too, with fresh juices & croissants and more fruit choice, but it's plentyful nevertheless. The owner, Silvia, makes the place a very welcoming one. She is friendly, professional, efficient and ever present,... More

We stayed at La Vela for three nights before a wedding in Cortona. The rooms are modest but incredibly clean, and the owner and her family are unforgettable. We have never received such friendly, heartfelt service, even in the most upscale hotels in the U.S. Before we left, she gave us a wedding gift of local treats, like olive oil... More
