Hotel is on a nice location in an traditional house. The room was nice and quite but sadly balcony on the street side. So didn't have the nice view over the lake. The spa was great and had a few wonderful massages. Breakfast was very generous and the food in the restaurant was really great and very generous portions. Ideal... More

The hotel and the restaurant are in two different buildings and you need an umbrella to go for your dinner when it rains, as it did on the first day of our arrival. There are umbrellas provided in the foyer so you don’t need to use your own. Our room was quite spacious with a seating corner and a large... More

This lovely Spa Hotel is ideally located on the east side of Kochel am See making for beautiful and dramatic sunsets almost every night. The Hotel is older and historic, very charming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A very small problem was promptly rectified... More

The staff was great, check in was a little slow (don't be in a rush) - loved loved loved the gals in the restaurant. It's not a "new" place by any means but it's cute and has a great atmosphere. Views are amazing from the rooms, most had a balcony on the lake side (I think). The spa was pretty... More

We found this hotel pretty quickly since we had to make a last minute booking. Boy did we luck out! It's right on a lake in a small town called Kochel Am See and the building was built in 1895. Leesa, the sweet and direct old receptionist lady, gave us a five star tour of the property. As well as... More

Stayed last weekend. Staff very nice and friendly. Breakfast lovely. Just a bit pricey at 100 euro per night for a couple given our economic times and being a small village. Room was spacious. Didn't think cleaning was remarkable.

I stayed at this hotel whilst visiting the Roche Diagnostics site in nearby Penzberg. I was very glad I stayed here. The hotel is charming and has a fantastic setting on a lake with mountains behind. I stayed on the mountain side so didn't have the gorgeous lake views but the price was very reasonable and the view can be... More

We stayed here overnight en route for the Oberammergau Passion Play, and felt very comfortable. The hotel has been owned by the same family for 100 years and they are obviously proud of its Bavarian style. Our room was large, with partial lake view. The road goes to Garmisch-Partenkirschen so it was quite busy. The views over the lake are... More

This is a charming little town on a beautiful lake. The staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed a nice dinner and breakfast. The rooms are a bit worn and tired feeling, but they were acceptably clean and comfortable.

We stayed this July at the Kochel Lake - it's a strange experience to swim in this lake as the water was warm at the surface but quite cold underneath. The landscape is scenic, sitting on the terrace of the hotel, directly at the lake is very romantic. But: the rooms aren't quite as charming, the furniture outdated, the food... More
