Stayed at Barnsdale Hall Hotel on 18th and 19th January 2015 to celebrate my 50th birthday. We love it :-) the superior rooms ARE superior :-) the staff are always exceptionally helpful, breakfast is delicious and the special orders are always cooked to perfection. The pool area has regular swimming lessons for local children/members and this area isn't as exclusive... More

Barnsdale Hall is a complex of buildings on a steep slope with fabulous views over Rutland Water. With accommodation in one of several buildings and the restaurant in another, be prepared to climb a lot of steps for breakfast. That’s bearable if you’ve had a good night’s sleep, but when you first arrive at your room in January to find... More

I spend a lot of time in hotels through business but dont review many but must review this one. When ever I'm within 30 minutes drive I stay here because the rooms are great except perhaps the single rooms which can be very small, the leisure facilities are great especially the gym, 22 metre pool with jacuzzi, steam room and... Attended Barnsdale Hall Hotel for a two day work event. It certainly has the wow factor - what a perfect setting! Immaculate grounds give way to some pretty amazing vista's. The grounds are spacious and you follow a long drive down towards the main part (the old part) of the hotel complex. Good parking facilities. The old hall itself is... More

My 3 adult daughters and myself were meeting with my father and his wife for lunch. My father had made the booking and he thought he'd booked the Lodge Restaurant, which is where we first went. It turns out he had actually booked the Hotel Restaurant, so we made our way across the A52 to the Hotel Restaurant. Our booking... More

We stayed for three nights from Christmas Eve and had a wonderful time at Barnsdale. Exceptional staff, plentiful food, great entertainment and comfortable room overlooking Rutland Water. Use of the pool facilities on Christmas Day was an added luxury to our relaxing break. We were amazed by the way that the paths were quickly cleared after the snowfall and the... More

We booked for two nights and walked the 17 miles round the reservoir. The hotel is ideally positioned for its views and is quite spacious, comprising multiple buildings. The restaurant and gym/pool facilities are remote from the accommodation, and the complex is multi-level (as it is built effectively on a small hillside). Breakfast was fine, the bar was convivial -... More

We came to the restaurant to celebrate a family birthday. From the moment we arrived we were treated to an incredibly high standard of service that continued to the end of the evening. The food was excellent, and my husband and daughter (who both enjoy a steak meal) said how the steak was the best they had ever eaten in... More

We had a great stay for one night when meeting up with friends. The grounds and views are lovely even in November. The room price was good value but our room was quite small with not much of a view. It had been recently redecorated so was in good condition and had everything we needed. There are obviously bigger and... More
