The hotel is set in acres of landscaped grounds, the views of the lake are excellent, we had a balcony room which was large and worth the extra money. The restaurant is on site but you will need to walk up steep steps, We stayed with our elderly parents, they could not walk up the steps, however you can take... More

We stayed here after booking a Wowcher offer and upgraded the room - all I can say was it was amazing. Views were brilliant - restaurant was great. Spa was brilliant. There room was so much bigger than my own front room. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the scenery was excellent.

Really excited about our Romantic overnight stay on Sunday evening. We couldn't fault the deluxe room which had a view of the beautiful Rutland Water beyond well kept gardens. The champagne and chocolates, complimentary were a nice touch. Surprised thee was NO bottled water in the room, may be it was an overlook. We were told the Restaurant was along... More

We visited for a 3 course lunch as a group of 8. We had all pre ordered what we were eating so we sat down in the bar for a drink before our server came over and introduced herself as Danielle and would we like to come through. She had a tray to take the ladies drinks and then after... More

It was ideally situated for seeing in and around Rutland . Stanford had connections by rail to Cambridge etc and Birmingham. Stanford was well worth a visit. Grantham??? Melton Mowbray for pork pies and a market.

We stayed here at the weekend the drive and entrance to the hotel are quite grand the reception was less so but the staff were excellent we were initially booked into a ground floor deluxe room which although very nice and well appointed looked out onto a communal area. The patio was used as a thoroughfare without screening anybody could... More

Firstly I want to say that the location is amazing!! Beautiful surroundings. Even on a cloudy, rainy day it is still lovely. The hotel entrance is quite grand and very oldie worldie but in a good way. Friendly and helpful staff on reception which made check in and check out very easy and smooth. The room was only a short... More

Having stayed here for a week in the winter months a few years ago we decided on a return visit. Our visit was relaxing and quiet, the staff were generally helpful and we had an enjoyable time visiting nearby towns and National Trust properties etc. There were notices left in our accommodation apologising in advance for noise from weddings and... Turned up without booking and got 20% discount as they had a few rooms left. Quality of the rooms was above 3 stars and staff were very friendly, especially Oksana on reception. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and our waitress was superb (Danielle) so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely come again soon

Stayed for one night.. Booked with a friend but got allocated rooms in completely different buildings! Not user friendly if you have any mobility issues.. Reception, rooms and bar/spa all separate buildings .. Which is probably lovely in the sunshine months! Small double was exactly that.. Small room with a bed! Booming music from another guest room until the early... More
