If you have imagined awakening with a flamingo sunrise over the South Pacific outside your bedroom window, with an early coffee on the veranda overlooking a lush English garden, a hearty breakfast before an invigorating hike over verdant hills...this is the place for you!!! So remote, so quiet, yet with all the comforts of home. Sue and Murray are gentle... More

This was by far the best B&B stay we have had in 25 years. Set against the sweeping magnificence of the Banks Peninsula's hills and seascapes, the house, the property, the gardens and the guest suite are charming beyond words. Everything about this rustic Farmstay is a feast for the senses - sights, sounds, and textures of the countryside; aromas... More

Very comfortable room and bathroom, with attractive and interesting decor, in a lovely farmhouse. The location is remote, beautiful and very quiet. Stunning scenery and a delightful garden. Murray and Sue couldn't be more friendly or helpful. We were made to feel at home and were shown all around the 960 acre farm. This is perfect for those that love... More

We stayed with Sue & Murray at Paua Bay as part of our recent NZ getaway. This place really is a hidden gem and a must see for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings NZ has to offer. We were provided with a warm welcome, beautiful... More

great location, though not so great to get to. Room and Bath were ok, but no more. Hosts were friendly, but to us they were commercially oriented, compared with other hosts in NZ we experienced. Wifi was limited and it was pointed out to us, how expensive it was; why offer it then ? Breakfast was ok, dinner was overpriced,... More

Murray is a 5th generation farmer. This is a real working farm, not a Real Journeys mock up. You will meet the farmers. You will hear their story. Sue will make home made scones, with home made preserves and cream fresh from the cow. You will relax in the beauty of a spot so lovely you will never what to... More

This was the perfect place to end our 22-day 'round island tour. Comfy bed, garden and mountain view, nice walk down to the shore. Hosts were nice Kiwi farmers and ranchers and know how to explain local history and show you how farming in the area goes on. Loved the place.

We have just enjoyed three fabulous days at this wonderful farmstay. Murray and Sue were charming and entertaining hosts and made us feel very welcome in their cosy, tasteful home. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and a hearty roast lamb dinner accompanied by home-grown vegetables from Sue's garden. Our comfortable bed in a delightful bedroom had a great view of the... More

The view from our room was so amazing that I had a hard time sleeping. The stars were so bright and looked so close. I would awake to see the moon rising out of the bay. Then in the morning I would watch the sunrise. After a thunder storm one night we saw a huge rainbow whose one end was... More

We stayed with Sue and Murray Johns for two nights when we first arrived in South Island. We loved our time on the farm and the fabulous welcome we received. They made us extremely welcome and we left feeling as if we had made two new, good friends after only two days. The accommodation is excellent, food very yummy and the... More
