What a lovely and remote spot to pitch up a tent. This DOC-run campsite is located directly at a beautiful beach and the water is warm enough during summer for swimming. The road there is long, winding and unpaved, but it*s worth it! The campground has a neat barbecue area which is spotlessly clean, thanks to the camp managers. And... More

We spent a fabulous 5 days at The Port. From first contacting David I felt confident this would be great place for a family coming together to celebrate a 90th birthday. The location is stunning and the house is brimming with character, charm and wonderful collections. The beds were divinely comfortable and the layout of the house allowed privacy for... More

When we entered the house the first thought was WOW. The house is so so beautiful and big and full of treasures and artifacts which have been , I suppose, collected in many years and have been selected very carefuly with great taste !! We were so sad that we stayed only for one night and got rain and fog... More

We came for 3 days and stayed 2 weeks! The house is charming, the garden relaxing, the location spectacular and we felt light-years away from stress. David and John have an extraordinary sense for perfect hospitality. And they have the most wonderful cat in the world : Louis !

What a special find this was ! Heard of ,by word of mouth ,(hopefully it stays slightly secret or you'll be in a line for a booking ) a group of us ,including London based visitors ,took over the Port for a long weekend . Apart from the spectacular location ,the generous and skilled hosts, the food supplied from the... More

The home away from home that you have always wanted, but much better! All the mod cons, a view to die for and an incredibly relaxed and welcoming vibe made for a very enjoyable time. Our stay in this eclectic and luxurious place was much too short. Many thanks to David & John for their hospitality. HIGHLY recommended. Glenn &... More

The port is so very homely with the most breathtaking view. John & DT are the "hosts with the Most". You can't help but feel relaxed & well looked after. The food is outstanding, the open fire is to die for! Coming from a busy city to such a calming surround for some R & R it's just magicial. Have... More

David and John are the perfect hosts...they give guests just the right amount attention to make you feel truly welcome. Arriving at the Port is like arriving at a friend’s home...warm, comfortable, beautifully furnished, homely, private and very well appointed with the most luxurious beds. Along with the addition of a supply of fresh eggs from the chooks, organically grown... More
