We live abroad so for us the communication with the staff Louise, Kenneth and Kent was vital in planning our big day. From the first moment there was no question or request which they were not able or willing to help us with. Everything from music, flowers and special diet for guests and performers, nothing seemed to be to much... More

We were driving around on Jylland in our old Jaguar and stayed here the first night. Nice quiet place for couples. We booked a three course "castle dinner" with good wine. A perpect meal. We visited also the church close to. Must be a romantic place to have the wedding party.

Wonderful building, redolent of a hunting lodge. Wonderful food and service, if a bit pricey for UK visitors, but that's Scandinavia for you. Wifi somewhat painfully slow in the rooms, which are a tad chilly. An experience, however.

We went back du Dronninglund Slot after ten years. Ten years ago we got married there, and had a wonderful stay. Ten years after, we went back and had a two night stay with 30 guests. A great buffet-dinner at thursday night and three-course dinner at friday. The service at the hotel is great! The room is great, but they... More

After reading a review by one disgruntled lodger, we almost bypassed this hotel gem. It is true that a majority of those who stay at the slot (palace) are involved in weddings, and since it was a Sunday when we arrived, and no weddings had been planned for that particular day, the hotel was completely empty. Unlike other Danish hotels,... More

I wanted to stay overnight in a castle and did so in 2005. It was not up to my expectations, however. I stayed in the cheaper room, and the interior did not make me feel like I was in a castle. Beer in the soda machine in the hall was a plus, however! There was a wedding so I had... More

Granted, Dronninglund Slot is beautiful and the rooms pleasant. However, we had a bit of bad luck when we stayed there for one night. A wedding with 100 people partied all night which made the night rather unrestful. The breakfast was not what we had expected in terms of variety, freshness and quality. And a mouse ran across the floor... More

Dronninglund castle dates from the 12th century and has a long and varied history. It has been a nunnery, a castle for the Royal Danish family and belonged to well-known historical figures such as Corfitz Ulfeldt. It is owned by a trust since 1980, and the last private owner, a widow and schoolmistress, still comes to visit at the age... More
