This was our second stay at Wharekauhau Lodge and yet again the luxurious accommodation, excellent service, delicious cuisine and breathtaking scenery did not disappoint. Truly a home away from home. Will certainly love to return again.

We had a wonderful stay in a villa with a spectacular views overlooking the ocean. The room was well appointed with everything necessary for a luxury stay. There is not much to do in this remote part of Featherstone so it's a relaxing place to get away from city and stress. The narrow winding road takes you through typical kiwi... More

Passion, purposeful and well executed architecture set to show this dimension of New Zealand coastal farming to the best possible. Interior design that is generous, natural, pleasing, comfortable, light and oh so spacious. Our cottage ranked among the best we have stayed in. The warmth on this winter evening was charming. The 'Wine Guy' and his approach was disarming, unpretentious... More

Wharekauhau is one of those rare perfect lodges. Our merry group of road cyclists just spent 4 nights and we could not have asked for a better stay. The property covers all the basics very well, with breathtaking views over New Zealand's Palliser Bay, gorgeous interiors and well appointed suites. But the real impression was made by the by the... What a delight to spend a night at Wharekauhau! Cottage was just beautiful and the view was second to none. The staff were very friendly and we felt like home. The meals were sumptuous! A must do if you are a Wellingtonian or visiting Wairarapa!

Absolutely beautiful place to visit. We visited here with 2 other couples for a lovely night out. Our cottages were totally magic. Luxurious fittings, plush bed, everything was special. The food was top notch. Breakfast, lunch, canapes and dinner were included and everything was great. The library/Billiards room was a fun place to play pool and hang out and the... More

We stayed two nights at this elegant, indescribably beautiful kiwi lodge. There aren't enough superlatives to describe our experience. The rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable with views that are breathtaking. The culinary experience was exquisite... Delicious, creative, personalized, and photogenic. The staff are accommodating, friendly and personable. The setting is spectacular. I wish we could have stayed for a... More

Absolutely amazing place, stunning location and the service was incredible. You really were made to feel at home. We stayed 2 nights, but wished it was 7! Just settled in and enjoyed the wonderful surrounds and chatting with the very knowledgable staff. This was a lodge 'Kiwi' style, where all the staff create this wonderfully relaxed environment where you are... More

I have to agree that the place is just stunning, comfortable, elegant, and wonderful. But one hates being gouged as well. I could go on and on about the beauty of the estate, the perfect comfort of the elegant rooms and and the lodge itself, the marvelous cuisine, the friendly and efficient staff, but it was all ruined by the... I have to say, I have never experienced anything like it. What makes this place great is not just the peaceful, outstanding, beautiful estate but the beautiful staff that goes with it. My husband and I were privileged to have stayed three wonderful nights and we were sad to leave. Our villa was stunning, the quad tour was freaking awesome... More
