This review is only about their restaurant - The Grill. Dined here with a group function. Paid $44 for main and dessert. It wasn't worth it. The menu should be clear. If it says your steak or your chicken will be served with steamed vegetables, I'd expect my veges on my plate or in a side dish for me -... More

Had a great stay at Solway copthorn masterton last weekend its not the first time and will not be the last its a very large hotel but friendly with great dinning rooms and functions rooms. It also has a small café around the back that has some great food at reasonable prices. I have been there for a conference birthdays... More

Copthorne Hotel and Resort should be very concerned with how they present themselves to customers. Perhaps Solway should invest in lifting up their standard and level of staff training. As a New Zealander I was embarrassed by the poor standard presented by the Solway. I have travelled in 6 different overseas destinations this year and this was by far the... More

Me and my husband booked the couples romantic package after seeing a number of good reviews however we were very disappointed. - the bed was 2 singles zipped together but separate heights so meant a very uncomfortable night - breakfast seemed tasteless and bland though cooked well for a buffet - the staff were not friendly nor helpful Our dinner... Have stayed here a few times, the last time over New Year. Good hotel in an ok area. The rooms are ok but are nothing special. Has a few extras if you want to waste some time. The golf range was my favourite.

We were in need of a change of scenery without wanting to travel too far. Copthorne Solway is a perfect place to bring the kids for a short escape from Wellington. We arrived early and were able to check in straight away, thank goodness as the kids were itching to get started on all of the activities available: golf, squash,... More

The Copthorne is a good standard, business-style hotel, of the sort we see in thousands around the world. Rooms are "correct" but nothing special. Free wifi in lobby only. For accommodation: 7/10. Unfortunately our dining experience did not meet the same standard. Appetizers, entree and dessert were all obviously factory catering products just heated on site (but well presented). My... More

We stay here for a night on most school holidays as there is so much for the kids to do and they love it - this time was no exception! Unfortunately both the dinner and breakfast meals weren't up to their usual standard on this visit. The buffet breakfast was particularly poor with bacon left swimming in pools of oil... More

We tried the Copthorne for an overnight stay in Masterton. Check-in was easy and the staff very helpful. Parking is a breeze here with plenty of room. It was nice to come into a room already warm from the heating system. The property is a mix of older and newer wings - we were in the 600-block, which seemed quite... More
