These lovely people had a delicious meal waiting for me when I arrived on a wet night after a long day. The weather had just turned unseasonably cold and I was so cosy and comfortable here. The rooms are luxurious and clean with everything I needed. We had interesting conversations that carried on the next morning over the very nice... More

Thank you Diana. Loved having you here and putting the world to rights over dinner! Yes, the middle room is very sheltered from the weather so in a southerly it is perfect. The Rimu room at the back is more private when other guests are booked in - and it is wheelchair accessible. Other than that, all three rooms are... More

We stayed 2 nights here as a centre for visiting the wineries but we impressed with the surrounding beauty and some lovely towns to visit nearby. Jim and Tracey are superb hosts welcoming us with drinks and snacks in the courtyard and later we enjoyed an excellent meal which we had prebooked with matching wines. The accommodation was impressive with... More

thank you for your review. Dinner with guests is always something we enjoy - and talking over drinks and canapés - there are always interesting conversations! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Many people don't realise how much there is to see and do in the area - the walks, towns, beaches, wineries and numerous attractions (and... More

We had a great time at the Lodge. Tracey and Jim were excellent hosts, with helpful information about the area and excellent conversation over breakfast. The breakfast was generous and well prepared. The facilities are very comfortable, the garden a marvel despite the near drought. We hope to be back.

thanks for your review, we very much enjoyed having you here! Yes, we are ideally placed for exploring the area - and as you discovered, there is some great road cycling close by! The Admiral Hill Rd is an excellent challenge and there are several circuits of various length. A tip for next time - book direct through our website... More

A very relaxing and comfortable place to unwind. Great hosts and animal family. One night not long enough. Only criticism is the misleading name; you can see and drive to summits but you are not on one! Apart from that couldn't fault it.

My partner and I spent a lovely night here. The rooms were excellent, the lounge was luxurious and the surrounds were peaceful and serene. We would highly recommend this a place to treat yourself. Liz and Jim were very friendly, as were the animals when we ventured outside. Feeding the Alpacas was a definite highlight. Do try the food here,... More

thank you Hadleigh for your review - we are so glad you enjoyed your stay here. There is always local seasonal produce available of some sort but we can't wait for the berries to start again! Nothing like strawberries, raspberries and boysenberries freshly picked from the garden! Have to make do with our jams in the interim (and the fresh... More

We had a wonderful stay at Summit Lodge. We were treated to a lovely local wine and given a morning tour of the farm animals, which included feeding the alpacas. What fun! thank you so much for your review. it is always good to know that we are doing the right things! We agree, the local pub - the Gladstone Inn - is a real asset, a 'proper' country pub. Good atmosphere and great food.....and, well, you can't go wrong with our local wines, in our view, they are all great! More

hi Karen - thank you for your review and we are so glad that the weekend lived up to expectations. It was wonderful to meet you all.
