Just recently Margaret and I selected Llandaff bed and breakfast to stay at while travelling through the lower North Island. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival with the home and grounds at the end of the long driveway. Elizabeth was their to greet us, offering eats and drinks on arrival. We enjoyed a great night's sleep and the breakfast the... More

My husband and I had one night staying at this superb establishment and can highly recommend to future NZ travellers. The attention to detail is first class but what is so lovely is the warmth and engagement of the hosts, a smile and cup of tea after a day of travelling and sightseeing just the tonic. One night is not... More

A lovely old house full of character with beautiful gardens and paddocks of sheep, alpaca and deer just on the outskirts of Masterton. Robin and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts and we were sorry to only stay one night.

A truly magnificent experience at the Llandaff Country Retreat. Robin and Elizabeth were amazing hosts, very kind and friendly. Their attention to detail was evident throughout our stay, from the delicious breakfast right through to the luring of the golden pheasant to the front lawn, just so we could see it. Will definitely be returning to Llandaff - but next... More

It was a real privilege to stay at the lovely Llandaff! We stayed with another four couples recently. The Hosts were delightful, helpful and enjoyable. The charms of yesteryear were all around you. From the doves that hovered around the dove loft to the alpacas being feed and the real feel of Country! Top marks to the lovely hosts...note to... More

We have stayed at Llandaff twice, the first time when living in NZ in 2004 and again this spring when we returned to show our daughter where she spent her first years. The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable, and Robin and Elizabeth delightful both times. They were always ready to answer questions about where to eat and what to do and... More

Location a little out of town and well away from the road. On arriving we passed some deer and llama farm lands from the neighbours before we arrived at this 1890 mansion. We stayed only one night and since we were the only guests, we could choose from the several beautifully decorated rooms. Naturally we took the large front side... More

This is probably the best B&B I have stayed in in NZ. Do not be put off by the long driveway without signposts. At the end of it is a magnificent house tucked out of the way surrounded by a lovely garden. A miniature kiwi Downton Abbey. Hosts are a very nice couple. Breakfast spectacular.

We chose to stay with Robin and Elizabeth after reading their excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. However nothing could have prepared us for this remarkable establishment. The house is a fabulous piece of New Zealand's architectural heritage and it is maintained in great style. The decor and furnishings would not be out of place in one of Britain's National Trust properties.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Llandaff, a 19th century country house filled with period antiques. Robin and Elizabeth were gracious hosts, taking time out of a busy afternoon to serve tea and chat with us about the house, its furnishings, and other interesting things about the area. The cooked breakfast was wonderful. A walk around the grounds is... More
