Beautiful place to stay. Loved the spa bath and enjoyed breakfast with home baked goods. Handy for the motorway if travelling into the city for business. Quiet, clean and spacious room. Welcoming hosts and would definitely go back if in the area and highly recommend to others. Great service and email communication prior to arrival. What more can you ask... More

Warm a friendly service, great location, spacious clean & tidy rooms, optional hot breakfast. Great communication prior to booking. I wish we had more time to ourselves to have enjoyed the oversized spa bath!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whangaparoa Lodge, nothing was any trouble for Troy and Tomoko and their friendly manner and excellent service will see us return again. Our host had a great knowledge of the area and fishing spots. The location makes it central for many day trips with wonderful scenic beaches.

After a long drive it was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by an extremely helpful and welcoming host carrying iced tea...what a geat start. This continued with helpful advice on where to run...to top this off a coffee van parks across the road each morning serving an excellent brew. The rooms are large, clean and equipped with everything you... More

At the end of our tour of New Zealand we had planned 3 days in Auckland. When trying to find accommodation, we found that most hotels in the centre of the city were already reserved. This was because of a very popular Bruce Springsteen concert there. So, we decided we would spend our time at a hotel on the beach.... More

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write your comments. Really puts a smile on my face knowing you enjoyed your stay with us - because of Bruce Springsteen! I can't say enough good things about Troy and Tomoko and the lodge in general! Very highly recommended! We booked out the motel for 3 nights during our wedding and all our guests raved about their stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely furnished and the views are spectacular. But best of all was the service by Troy and... More

Troy greeted us as soon as we arrived and helped us carry our luggage to our lovely room.He then returned with much appreciated iced teas. The rooms are spacious with lovely views out to sea.I would definitely recommend staying at The Lodge. It's obvious that Troy enjoys making his guests welcome and comfortable.

During a two month visit to New Zealand from England we stayed in many motels but this is the one we have fondest memories of. Unfortunate circumstances with a long term holiday rental property left us homeless for the last month, luckily we remembered Whangaparaoa Lodge from a previous visit some eight years ago (different owners), fortunately they had availability.... Very friendly and accommodating. Thanks Troy. Comfy bed, very clean throughout. Make sure you order the breakfasts they are good:). 1 Brm unit with balcony is great with views out to sea. Busy road but this did not bother us. Well done to the whole team.

I stayed here for a concert, and although my arrival and departure times were outside normal hours, the host could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms were large and well appointed, with great views. I would highly recommend The Lodge, and would definitely stay here again. Absolutely no complaints.
