We booked in for two nights but would happily have stayed longer if they could have taken us. We were recommended this place and it certainly lived up to its reputation. We had a lovely cabin set in the privacy of established gardens a short walk from the river. We had everything we could have wanted for a very comfortable... More

Creel Lodge is a nice hotel with a beautiful landscaped garden (loved the lights at night) along the Turangi River. Great location if you like to go trout fishing I am sure... although we didn't. We liked the walk along the river and our 4-year old loved the "wobbly" bridge. Room was probably the smallest family unit we had during... More

We stayed here to attend a wedding in the area most people stay here for the trout fishing . Clean and tidy. Its the closes to nature my partner will get me. The staff were friendly and could answer any question about the area. QUITE we slept like babies. I highly recommend you stay here if you need a night... More

My wife and I were in 'motel shock' having stayed at motels for most of our trip around North Island. We had intended to drive to Napier but we both loved the Tongariro area so we spent our last night here. This was the best place we stayed at in the whole of New Zealand; we had our own 'executive'... More

We were in search of the elusive blue duck on the Turangi River and selected Creel Lodge based on location adjacent to the river. Our unit had a small kitchen, separate living room and lovely small outdoor space. The kitchen was well-equipped for basic food preparation which is helpful as there is no restaurant on site. Breakfast supplies can be... More

The Tongariro River is at the bottom of the extensive gardens, so excellent fishing is within a very short walk. Having a fly shop attached means flies and advice are handy. This leaves the vehicle at the disposable of the nonfishing spouse, though the rooms, grounds, and decks of Creel Lodge are so beautiful and peaceful that it's tempting to... More

We stayed for 1 night, even though the rain was torrential we thought it was fabulous here! We had an executive suite which included free wi-fi, very useful! We had a separate bedroom, a lounge & bathroom & kitchen area, all very good. The gardens have been landscaped beautifully & there is a nice river walk.

We had a one bedroom cabin with a very spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen. It was so very peaceful to sit on the porch of our unit, sip wine and enjoy the surroundings. There are several bbqs all in close proximity to the rooms. Free internet, washer and dryer is a plus. The walk along the river is... More

We loved this place. Stayed in the newer executive rooms. Very nice, but closer to the street and all in one building - so you are right next to your neighbors. The outdoor BBQs are great for cooking. Located on river, but none of the rooms have a river view. The gardens are gorgeous. The place is well cared for... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to do the Tongariro Crossing. The spacious units are all at ground floor, have separate sleeping room(s) and living room/kitchen, and are located between trees in a nice shady park, with a generous wooden deck around each unit. The whole setup is very pleasant to the eye, private, as well as practical with parking... More
