The hotel isn't posh, but it doesn't pretend to be! Our room was large, warm, super comfy bed, spotlessly clean with fantastic views to Glen Etive. The bathroom was old fashioned but adequate, large bath lots of hot water super towels etc. The staff were lovely and helpful. Excellent service. The menu was varied, portions huge, just right after a... More

Like many people who stay here, I was walking the West Highland Way. After reading reviews I had my reservations about booking here, but the convenience factor won out! Hence I lowered my expectations considerably as I descended the path from Rannoch Moor. But I need not have done. Yes, it was basic and had not seen a painter and... More

If you are walking the west highland way, you have likely had a long day to reach here and there are few options (Glencoe Ski area?). So it would have been nice if the rooms were charming, but the whole place is so old. That's the drawback and also the reason I can't be too harsh, the place is loaded... More

Arrived at the Kings House Hotel with 4 of my friends on Sunday the 19th July whilst doing the West Highland Way Walk. Arrived absolutely soaked and desperately needing a room for the night. Met two nice girls working behind the bar and asked for a room for the night. The hotel was full. However we got very well looked... More

I stayed in a triple room with 2 friends as a stop doing the west highland way. The room was spacious and well equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits and a hairdryer! Incredible view, including a stag and deer right in front of the window. The only let down in terms of accommodation was the shower, a hot/cold trickle which was... More

I have visited this Hotel over the years and we went there for a lunch on our way home from the North, on a sentimental journey. Hard to find the way in as the old main door was locked. Eventually found the bar and had to call for service. We said we would like a bowl of soup so the... More

A welcoming sight on our travels, this is an old style hotel but well equipped for travellers. we had a family room which is very well set out, complimentary toiletries and towels were in abundance. Wifi is restricted to a small area beside the computer in hallway so not ideal as can get busy. Restaurant has a good choice of... More

We stayed at King's House for 1 night while walking the WHW. It's a nice hotel in a stunning area. Our room was just very small and the heating was..let's say challenging.. WIFI is only available while sitting next to the computer in the ground floor. Meals served in the pub are of average size, good quality and average price.... More

Knowing that the hotel had been sold, I was a bit anxious to go back to this hotel where I'm going for 15 years now. I went with my granddaughter (4 years old) and was pleased to see that the ambiance and atmosphere are the same. Some upgrading, but keeping the hotel as it was and that is great. I... More
