Arrived here on 28/8/15. Was welcomed by the manager who told me he had been moved here only 2 weeks ago to iron out some of the problems. To be honest I couldn't find any. Ok the walls could do with a new coat of paint. My room looked out onto loch leven. It was clean and tidy. Bathroom was... More

The bad outweighs the good with this hotel by some margin. However it is only fair to start with the good. The location is amazing. We were in room 116 last night and the view from the room was superb. The hotel takes dogs, or at least has dog friendly rooms, so big thumbs up for that. The bar next... More

Looks nothing but as presented in the pictures. We are a family of 5, booked two rooms with Loch view. On our arrival we were informed that one of the rooms is not available and we were assigned room 109. Never accept this room! It is a tiny little room - wall view. Can't open the window as a noisy... The small bar is the only part of this building that is in any way clean and comfortable. I understand the place is old, but there is no excuse for dirt. Our bedroom was neglected looking. Bathroom was also very basic and the showerhead did not stay on the wall. Our dining experience was no better. It was as the... More

We booked a DB&B deal following our climb up Ben Nevis. Food was great. Delicious breakfast. Rooms were clean. Best thing was staff. Very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with the barman ( an Aussie) but the waitress deserves a special mention. Was organising the restaurant single handed and giving a bit of banter at the same time. If... More

I usually think that people exaggerate on these reviews but I'm sorry to say that most for this hotel are right, I wish I had read before I booked. There is obviously a problem at this hotel as staff drafted in from elsewhere, however, it looks like things will take a lot of resolving. The hotel is run down and... More

After traveling all day, my family just wanted to relax! We did, but arrived just at meal serving closing time. Couldn't eat but we had snacks in our car. Not their fault. We did have a good breakfast the next morning, served by very competent staff. Enjoyed a walk and then sitting in the bar area chatting with other travelers.... More

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent, but the rooms are a wee bit tired and in need of updating. They're dog friendly policy is a great idea and we would certainly consider staying there in the future, although we did feel the prices were a bit steep(I assume this is because we were there at the... Why has this hotel not been demolished? Why do they still put people in room 114? A total shame. No heating in the bath room.... Moist on the new windows, or old window rotten completely .... Filth on the exterior of the toilet.... Wet carpet floorings ... A big black dog at the reception desk .... Chic outdoor furniture accompanied... More
