we have just returned from a 3 day break at this hotel, the reception staff could not have been nicer. our room was small but beds were very comfortable. we had dinner in the restaurant on the first night the chicken and haggis was fantastic . the following 2 nights we ate in the gathering which is part of the... Many reviews comment on the need for refurbishment - and they are correct. All rooms are up a narrow, turning stair with no lift nor help with luggage - hardly surprising then that the walls and woodwork have many scuff marks that certainly could do with regular repainting, as could the narrow corridors. Also our room had dated basic furniture... More

At 130 pounds per night one would expect a better quality of stay. We were allocated a road side room which vibrated when large vehicles passed along the road. The dinner served in the restaurant was of reasonable quality but not great. I am sure better value is available in the locality

Hotel is in dire need of updating. Our room had a broken shower head which staff knew about as it was taped up but still unusable in the shower fitting. Despite very warm weather our window would not open more than two inches and the room was stifling. On the second morning there was no hot water as the boiler... More

Slightly belated review, as we stayed here 4 weeks ago between 27th - 29th June and had a wonderful time. In advance of our arrival we had friendly and informative booking assistance from Cinnie at Reception, so arrived on the Friday evening with high expectations. Stella gave my wife and I a warm welcome, and made us and our well-travelled... More

This hotel is in quite a convenient location if you are passing through. There are some really great sites and hikes in the area as well. The hotel staff was more than helpful with any of our requests. The decor is a little outdated but that is what gives this place character. There is WiFi available which worked best in... More

We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. The public areas are very stylishly decorated and our room was smallish but pleasant. We were close to the A82 but slept well both nights. Food was good in a dining room with spectacular views and staff were extremely pleasant. There is a lovely outdoor area outside the dining room kitted out with... More

The public rooms at this hotel are full of character with a Scottish theme. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. An excellent breakfast was served very promptly, again by lovely friendly staff. Now the down side. For the price the rooms were appalling. Tiny room with mouldy peeling wallpaper behind the radiator and the windowsill was... More

The dated 70s/80s decor should have set alarm bells ringing immediately. Things didn't improve when we checked into our room unfortunately - the bathroom was incredibly dated, the shower head wouldn't stay in place, the windows could not be opened and, worst of all, the bathroom door didn't even close enough to offer any privacy whatsoever. Our room was also... More
