Lovely hotel staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fab. Beautiful on a sunny day fantastic for the beach.
ordered two beef bagetts with tea. When it eventually arrived the meat was disgustig hence it went back to be replaced by pork bagette not much better. The Mrs had soup which wasnt to bad.Staff not friendly and incompitent.Poor quality, overpriced, never again.TRY ELSEWHERE.
For whatever reason - it seems that this customer had it in for the hotel from the moment he arrived.
Co-incidentally I personally saw the baguettes in question go out to their table and even commented to the chef how nice they looked! We use top quality roast sirloin of beef and this is what went out to the table....

Never been this far north on the east coast, now want to return. Hotel set in wonderful sea front location, in traditional old town, got everything you could ask for, what ever your age, or group size. Stunning building, with very comfortable beds. Wedding on when we were there, but didn't bother us at all.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope we will have the pleasure in welcoming you back to the Grand Hotel sometime in the near future.

It is understandable that a popular hotel should be buzzing on a Saturday night, after all it is the one day of the week that the majority of people will use to relax - this was the case the night these guests visited. If the reviewer would prefer a quieter atmosphere then our Victoria restaurant and hotel is normally a...

We had a very comfortable night staying in this hotel and enjoyed the beautiful sea view whilst eating a very tasty breakfast (I had eggs benedict - delicious) prior to starting our group Coast and Castles cycle ride.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you had an enjoyable visit to the hotel and hope that we may have pleasure in welcoming you back to the hotel sometime in the near future. Hopefully we can work on achieving a 5 star rating from you next time?

We stayed here for two nights for a family celebration.
We had initially booked a standard room which was very pleasant. However, the view from the front of the hotel is beautiful so I went to reception to ask if they had a sea view room. They had one which turned out to be stupendous - a huge room with...

Stayed for three nights at this Hotel in a seaview room, its a little more but the views over the bay are worth it. The down side, the double glazed panes fitted to the large sash windows of this Victorian hotel have been in for some time and the rubber seals have shrunken back. This on one occasion (of driving...

Thank you for your review. Yes on the days you stayed with us we did have some very bad weather - very occasionally and in instances such as this our sash windows can bare the brunt of the weather.
Thank you for taking the time to write to us - our maintenance team have looked at the offending window and...

Sea view, beautiful surroundings and great company-it should have been perfect but it wasn't. We placed our order for afternoon tea and this is where it all went wrong. We sat with empty glasses for 20 minutes, having asked twice for a bottle of prosecco and then when asked for a glass of water, this never actually arrived. The afternoon...

We enjoyed a sumptous afternoon tea, and the quality matched the quantity. We were told the pastry chef had created new pastries that day, I can only say how lovely they were, carrott cake, lemon drizzle, raspberry tarts and viennese whirls, the only ones we didnt try were the eclairs.
Fresh baked scones clotted cream and jam, and an excellent...
