For whatever reason - it seems that this customer had it in for the hotel from the moment he arrived. Co-incidentally I personally saw the baguettes in question go out to their table and even commented to the chef how nice they looked! We use top quality roast sirloin of beef and this is what went out to the table.... More

Never been this far north on the east coast, now want to return. Hotel set in wonderful sea front location, in traditional old town, got everything you could ask for, what ever your age, or group size. Stunning building, with very comfortable beds. Wedding on when we were there, but didn't bother us at all.

A venue for lots of weddings and family parties, if you are looking for a luxury quiet sophisticated dinner on a saturday night, go elsewhere, this restaurant has seen better days and better food, The menu did not even have the price on it ! al la carte not offered Certainly no style or sophistication, will not spend my money... It is understandable that a popular hotel should be buzzing on a Saturday night, after all it is the one day of the week that the majority of people will use to relax - this was the case the night these guests visited. If the reviewer would prefer a quieter atmosphere then our Victoria restaurant and hotel is normally a... More

We had a very comfortable night staying in this hotel and enjoyed the beautiful sea view whilst eating a very tasty breakfast (I had eggs benedict - delicious) prior to starting our group Coast and Castles cycle ride.

We stayed here for two nights for a family celebration. We had initially booked a standard room which was very pleasant. However, the view from the front of the hotel is beautiful so I went to reception to ask if they had a sea view room. They had one which turned out to be stupendous - a huge room with... More

Stayed for three nights at this Hotel in a seaview room, its a little more but the views over the bay are worth it. The down side, the double glazed panes fitted to the large sash windows of this Victorian hotel have been in for some time and the rubber seals have shrunken back. This on one occasion (of driving... Thank you for your review. Yes on the days you stayed with us we did have some very bad weather - very occasionally and in instances such as this our sash windows can bare the brunt of the weather. Thank you for taking the time to write to us - our maintenance team have looked at the offending window and... More

Sea view, beautiful surroundings and great company-it should have been perfect but it wasn't. We placed our order for afternoon tea and this is where it all went wrong. We sat with empty glasses for 20 minutes, having asked twice for a bottle of prosecco and then when asked for a glass of water, this never actually arrived. The afternoon... More

We enjoyed a sumptous afternoon tea, and the quality matched the quantity. We were told the pastry chef had created new pastries that day, I can only say how lovely they were, carrott cake, lemon drizzle, raspberry tarts and viennese whirls, the only ones we didnt try were the eclairs. Fresh baked scones clotted cream and jam, and an excellent... More
