11.03.14 13.04 hrs. On arrival it took 10 minutes before our order was taken. Order was 2 Orange juice, 1 Soup and 1 Quiche. Orange juice came in 5 minutes. 35 minutes later no sign of food so we paid for our orange juice and left. No apology from staff other than to say the quiche takes some time to... More

I was extremely disappointed to read your review regarding the poor service you received on your visit to our tea room on Tuesday. Having spoken to the staff involved, they do admit you had a wait because of heating the quiche and were very apologetic about not explaining to you in advance that it may take a little while. I... Enjoyed a weekend stay at No. 61 Guest House for a friend's wedding. No, 61 was a short walk from the tram which we took from the centre of Newcastle. Arrived on a busy Saturday evening, our room facing onto the lively Front Street bars and restaurants, which was fine as we could not really hear any noise from outside.... More

We stayed all family at this place. A really nice place, great location and good breakfast. The room was big, clean and lovely. Nice service. We don't have anything what stop us to book again when we will be at this place.

I stayed for a weekend in a rear-facing room which was nice and quiet and quite well equipped though it and the en-suite could have been a bit cleaner. Breakfast was nice and served promptly and I had no problems with the shower either, both issues which were mentioned in other reviews on here. Both the manager and the owner... More

We stayed for one night on Saturday for a wedding reception at a nearby hotel. We had a good, well decorated room and clean bathroom. Lovely breakfast the next morning and there is a very hospitable team working there. There was a bit of noise from the nearby pubs and bars but that's what you get from an older building... More

We stayed just one night at the No 61 Guest House this summer, in June and were lucky enough to get one of their top story rooms with great harbor views. We were so pleasantly surprised by the beautifully appointed room, brand new bathroom, and even more so by the incredibly customized breakfast. We are eating grain free, gluten free,... More

An outside garden (as well as an indoor room) away from the hustle & bustle of the high street, rapid service pay on exit at the hive of the kitchen door complete with smiles, Quiche delicious, and the best topped chunk of carrot cake I've tried and believe me I've tried a few! Homemade choice of scone on cream tea... More

We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our Hadrian's Wall Walk. It is easily situated and the room was delightful - spacious and airy. We could just see the Priory from the window. Both the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good and the welcome was excellent. This... More

I looked for somewhere where I could invite 11 friends to join me for afternoon tea. I am so glad we went to No 61. We were made very welcome and the afternoon tea was the best I have had and I have been to quite a lot of other places to compare it with. I did not stay overnight... More

The tea rooms here are very good - traditional setting but clean and bright - green and white checked table cloths and the tea cosies are all hand knitted! The sun drenched little back garden is bright and pretty, complete with tinkling fountain and a world away from the hustle and bustle outside in Front Street. The perfect spot to... More
