We were there for a weekend in November. The rooms were very conformatable, the service is very kind with the guests and the hotel has different alternatives if tyou choose to stay there. One recommendation: Don't lose the breakfast! It's one of the most cute and deliciuos breakfast I've always experienced!

We were at the Hotel El Milano Real in September with some friends on a walking holiday with Headwater. What a superb experience! Teresa and Paco, the owners, made us feel really at home and were extremely helpful in suggesting routes and additional things to do. The food at the hotel is second to none. Great choices of well prepared... More

We stayed here mid-April 2013 on an all-inclusive Headwater walking holiday. The hotel is in a small village, so one does not have to walk very far to be out in the countryside. Don't come here if you expect British food. Otherwise, you will enjoy it. Breakfast consisted of lots of little things - juice, fruit, yoghurt, buns, tiny quiches,... More

Stayed here some time back. This place is in the middle of nowhere, and not close to the old city of Avila. Room was OK. Food was extremely pricey. This place tries to sell itself as gourmet, but only the price was gourmet. Food was average. Was charged about 7 euro for a melon ball scoup of ice cream for... More

Our stay here very much lived up to expectations, in some ways I think it was undersold. We were on a Headwater walking holiday and went to this area for the high peaks (>2000 meters) and promised alpine scenery. I think the time of year is important, our trip was in June which is before the Spanish descend en masse... More

We stayed here for a week in late April. The local area is nice but not a patch on Snowdonia, the English Lakes or the highlands of Scotland. First the hotel. It is on the edge of Hoyos Del Espino and is surrounded by other houses. HDE is not up to much. It has a few bars, but none of... More

The hotel is peaceful. The restaurant is excellent although expensive (particularly breakfast) and very formal. We were disappointed with the room which we were allocated; the hotel was virtually empty and yet we were not given a room with mountain views.

The hotel was easy to find but the website photo is a little misleading. You think you are in the countryside but actually it is surrounded by houses and whilst we were ther there was a giant crane 40 metres away where a house was being constructed. We were there Sat and Sunday so no workmen and no noise at... More

Tucked away in the village of Hoyos del Espino, this charming hotel is the perfect place to enjoy the pleasures of Spain off the beaten track. The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant is of the quality you would find in any cosmopolitan city with the addition of an outstanding wine list. Connected to the hotel is a spa which... More

We were surprised by the high quality of this hotel in a tiny mountain village. The rooms are fairly large, with very comfortable beds. The best part is the dining room with picture windows overlooking the Gredos. The food at dinner and at breakfast was just great, imaginative, very fresh and light, with excellent presentation. It was nice to get... More
