Frau Rombach was an extraordinary hostess to our group of 15 from the United States. We loved the location of the Gasthaus (just a 5-minute walk from Sankt Peter's church and the village center), the walking trails in the back of the house, the room decorations (authentic antique furniture, themed rooms), the cleanliness and order all around us, Frau Rombach's... Do not expect a lot of frills in this Gasthaus. What you should expect is a very friendly and accommodating staff, and clean, cozy rooms with extremely comfortable beds. The location is great if you intend to do some hiking; the town's trailhead is just behind the building, and the view from the balconies (if you are fortunate enough to... More

We recently had 2 days in the Black Forest and chose this lovely guest house as our base. We aren't normally 'guest house' people, but the reviews and location convinced us to give it a try. Of all the accommodation we stayed in during our 16 day trip, this little gem was a real highlight. Our hostess spoke excellent English,... More

This guesthouse is a treasure trove of local memorabilia and well worth a visit. Each room is themed and well decorated. If you are looking for de luxe this is not the place for you but for one night it is great fun.

Our family recently stayed for two nights and we enjoyed it very much. We stayed in one of the family rooms (sleeps four) in the top of the house and there was plenty of room for us all. The room was very clean and tidy and nicely furnished. The en-suite bathroom, while compact, was perfectly fine, clean and a great... More

We stayed there for a long weekend with our 2 years old baby, the overall experience was very good. The hotel is small, cosy, originally furnished and absolutely clean. We found there everything we needed for our baby, including small bed, bed clothes, warm water for the evening bottle... The staff is very friendly and helfpul. We took the half... More

We stayed here for one night in late September as part of a German road trip. I only wish we could have stayed here longer, as it was the perfect place to stay and Barbara was a wonderful hostess. We speak only basic German, which was fine for basic conversations, but Barbara's English is absolutely perfect, so it was easy... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on September 5 in room 3 at Gasthof Zum Kreuz. The Gasthof was beautiful and the furnishings were the nicest we had in our 21 day trip to Europe. The town of Sankt Peter was very charming and within walking distance. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and served in the lovely dining room. Barbara... More

The hotel was very welcoming with clean rooms, wholesome breakfast, and delicious food served in the restaurant. All the staff were very cordial and helpful and especially Barbara who was the perfect hostess, making our stay as comfortable as possible and also her knowledge of the english language made communicating so much easier as unfortunately we know no German.
