Cliffs, sea and sand, 2 minutes from pension. More beaches with less people across the cliffs. Manolis and wife - very helpful, and in deed as well as advice. Rooms small but adequate and well equipped, with a balcony with some view of sea, but cliffs predominate. And are beautiful. Sound insulation practically non-existent, so hope for quite neighbors and... More

The Matala View Pension is a friendly relaxed location to spend your break. My partner and I stayed there for 3 nights last May, and were really happy with the service we received from the proprietor Georgia and family. Matala View has 8 rooms, with 3 on the second floor having their own balconies. We had room 7 which was... More

We picked out Matala View from the excellent website and were not disappointed. There is no sea view but that is reflected in the price. It is so close to the centre yet quiet. The road leads to a 'path' including clambering over rocks which leads to the unspoilt 'Red Beach'. We stayed in a studio which had a balcony... More

Not sure how this place earns such rave reviews. It is certainly adequate but some of the places close by looked better. The hospitality of the owners is without question but we found that to be the case in other places in Greece. We stayed in room number 12 and this is to be avoided. Some may consider the outside... I have been going to this establishment for three years..I go there for the peaceful and central location to the village..50yds to the centre and yet so far away. A great place if you like to sit out on balcony and read or just to rest..always books around if you run out. Great value for money and lovely family. Derry More

Matala-View is a really nice, family run pension. The owners are very nice and always willing to help. She arranged for a hairdresser from the next village to visit me and sort my hair out. She wouldnt take any money for the phonecalls and she insisted on cleaning up after. The rooms were very basic but served us well. The... More

All the wonderful reviews of the Matala View are correct. If you want to get the feeling of what it's like to live in a relaxed, family environment Matala is the place to go and the Matala View is the Pension to stay in. Manolis and Georgia and all the family couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. We rarely go... More

We have just returned having spent a very pleasant week at Matala View. I was a little concerned by the previous review but I think they must have sorted out the problem with the hot water as we had piping hot water morning and evening though out our stay there. We had a double room rather than a studio or... More

There is a lot to like about Matala View. Manolis and Sofia are very friendly and the breakfast is worth the 5€ cost. We also had a studio which had a lot of space and a small kitchenette, not that we used it for anything other than brewing the occasional cup of tea. That in itself was something of an... More
