Best view to the ocean and rain forest from the bed or the terrace. Wake up with sounds of birds. Wonderful and absolutely clean hotel with friendly and helpful employees. Close to a short trip into a rain forest down by the hotel. Just a few steps downstairs to a beautiful beach.

At the end of a dirt road perched above the Pacific at the mouth of a river, this is a really great getaway. You can walk right into the mangrove in there adjacent nature preserve. You can continue past the feeding spoonbills and sunning crocodiles on down the beach. The rooms are large, with private balconies hanging in the forest... More

We were advised to go here for a delicious breakfast with an incredible view and then a lovely walk through the adjoining Bio Reserve! Well that was great advice! The Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit, great omelets and super tasty banana pancakes! Oh yeah and super yummy coffee! What a View! Then after a lovely breakfast, we then went... More

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel with excellent service from the staff and a very personal touch from the lovely owners. Breakfast was amazing every morning and well worth paying extra for each day with eggs to order, fresh baked bread, and organic slow drip coffee AND fresh squeezed orange juice. Dinner was very nice and authentic as... More

Wonderful view, sunset is a show from the bar. Owners are very nice, comfortable room and pool, great breakfast. Beaches are 100 steps or 10 minutes walking. Just be aware that last 50 km to Nosara are dirt road full of bumps, better have a SUV. We did it with a standard car, VERY slowly.

Dear Guest – many thanks for your review! We have good news regarding the access road to Nosara and Lagarta Lodge. A big road reparation started and within a short time the road will be –still a gravel road- but in a very good condition. There are no rivers to cross if you arrive from Nosara’s south side. Many thanks... More

We had a 3-night stay at Lagarta Lodge in Superior Room 9. It was a wonderful place to end up a 3-week roundtrip through Costa Rica. Wonderful sunset, beautiful nature around, ver good food, convincing sustainability concept. The fresh bread and self made jam are highlight already in the morning. We went for turtles in Ostional, Canopy Tour and Sufing... More

Living in Nosara, I haven't eaten at Lagarta for several years, and decided to give it a try (again) two days ago. My boyfriend and I visited the patio restaurant for sunset dinner and drinks, yes the view is lovely, but the food was terrible and way overpriced.. $20 for two sodas and two appetizers that were processed fast food... Dear Resident of Nosara. Many thanks for your visit at our Sunset Bar where you ordered fried calamares and nachos – and you indeed got two deep fried items (the beans are not from a can by the way). We apologize if the appetizers were too greasy – did you tell us to get it changed? Calamares rings are –... More

We visited Lagarta Lodge for the first time about a month back. We returned to Nosara last weekend and decided to stay there again given the good experience we had during our first visit (nice view, good breakfast, comfortable room). However, this time when we approached the reception the woman at the frontdesk informed us they only had one room... More

After booking the only room they had available, we discovered room 9 is one of the most expensive as well. It's worth it. We woke up with the sun at 5:30 every day when howler monkeys appeared mere meters away from our balcony to eat the fruit in the trees. The superior rooms all have gorgeous balconies facing the rainforest,... More

What beautiful setting up on the clif side looking down along the coast line. We had cocktails at subset two nights in a row. The sunsets here are incredible. The staff are friendly. The food looked great although we didn't try it. This place is very romantic so bring your partner! Thank you for creating a lovely experience
