This hotel, like Ubon in general, is perfect for Thai and Laotians. Food, service, location, music, prices are all superb. If you don't speak any Thai then your stay here and in Ubon maybe awkward. However if you do speak Thai/Lao or have a guide then you should enjoy your stay. Breakfast is a very decent spread.

This hotel sounds great on all the websites. But I think the person writing the reviews hasn't actually stayed there. There are too many bad things to mention so all I would say is book somewhere else. If you book this hotel YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED

You cannot trust any message on their website www.Laithong.com which said they provided proper facilities. They have no gym, no conference room as informed. And the staffs at reception are bad in communication with customers. Choose the others hotel for your convenient.

We had stayed at this Hotel many years earlier and upon traveling to Ubon Province to visit family, thought it was time to try it again. There had been several renovations since our last visit in 2005, but basically the hotel had not changed much. The room we had was dated and showed it. We were told the Hotel was... More

Many have been misleading on this hotel so I will weigh in. It is outdated and needs a major cleaning and freshening up. That being said...the staff is very friendly and welcoming (even to foreigners traveling alone) and the accommodations were peaceful and adequate. The breakfast was well above expectations of other Thai breakfast buffets. Hot and cold stations and... More

Pleasant helpful staff, typical of Issan people. It is a basic hotel popular for seminars and meetings. The rooms was adequate and well maintained. 4 bottles of water are provided which was rather generous for Thailand. The breakfast options are intended for Thai people which was fine and a chance for me to try some more Issan type food. I... More

Although it Laithong Hotel carries only three stars is a fine, even luxurious accommodation for a small price. Spacious rooms, adequate bathroom and a good breakfast. Although not all staff speaks good English, the people are exceptionally friendly and helpful and I could make my wishes understood without any problems. Opposite the hotel is an excellent Thai restaurant. For each... More

Our party stayed 2/3 nights in six different rooms at the Laithong Hotel in Ubon. The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The free mini bus transfer to and from the airport was convenient. The full buffet breakfast was excellent. The bed in our room was a little hard for our liking.... More

The Laithong Hotel covers the traveller's needs. Room, shower, breakfast, wifi, all ok but nothing special. Noisy aircon with dripping water. No room safe but safety deposit box at reception. Hotel guests come from Thailand, very few foreigners. Some restaurants in walking distance. Hotel restaurant offers dinner but very few customers. Friendly staff, but a little bit slow. Just an... Great restaurant very classical lots of wood and top notch food. Best club sandwich in town. The live music is chinese orientated however the pianist is a true gem. Rooms are quiet, the suite is not quite my style but is spacious. All hotels come alive at night hibernating throughout the day till the lights come on. Place to be.
