Ended up stating here for 10 days and loved it! Best value for money in the area, cheap rooms, very clean with everything one needs. The location is a bit outside San Juan and outside Urbiztondo but right on the beach. Easy to get anywhere by jeepneys or tricycles. Or, if you want to get around freely, the staff arranged... More

I loved this place, the German food (mett Brötchen!!!), the room (I had the honour to stay in the biggest room as solo traveller for p$800.) And then the surf, and the sunset. Stayed there for 2 nights, owner came to wake me when my alarm failed. He is a great guy who gives an interesting insight into living in... More

we were supposed to stay 2 nights in this guesthouse, but on the evening of the first day, when we came back from dinner outside one employee told us that we'll have to leave the next day. Believing it was a misunderstanding as we booked the room with the owner, we went to sleep with confidence. But it was true... More

Compared to the busy San Juan stip of hotels a little more south, you will find here much more silence and relaxation. The beach is large and clean, and there is almost nobody there! Depends what you are looking for, if you want to party and meet other "sunday" surfers, avoid this place! If you are seeking for a nice... More

I've been to San Juan a few times now, first time at the Sunset German resort, Its a few km past the main surfing beach of San Juan in a much much quieter area....not sure what the fellow who mentioned prostitutes is talking about, were there any it would be quite unusual as they would starve to death trying to... Had a nice stay with their clean and well maintained rooms, owner was friendly except for the desk clerk who lacks some sense of discreetness and professionalism, also prostitutes are allowed to linger on the place and disturb guest with their loud mouth and obnoxious "offer".

This past Holy Week, my boyfriend and I decided to not plan anything (well, more my boyfriend cos I love and HAVE to plan anything) other than going to Pampanga to witness the crucifixion. After that, it was all just "whatever happens, happens". So, we drove all the way from Pampanga to La Union and relied on our lovely Lonely... More
