We stayed, for five nights, this place is 1 1/2 hour driving from stonetown/the airport, next to a very small town, it is in the less commercial part of Zanzibar. The resort is very nice, with a spacious restaurant, with very nice food. The employees like there work and are very friendly and helpfull. The owners ( a dutch koppel)... More

We spent 2 weeks here in seaview villa 2 and loved every minute, the proximity to the village allows you to interact with the locals and the surroundings are beautiful and natural, including the various 4 legged inhabitants. The staff can't do enough for you and any they will do their best to fulfill any request. The guys in the... More

We had the best time here after being on safari. The views from the rooms are spectacular. The water activity options are fantastic, as are all the staff. I would most definitely love to go with the family again.

My husband and I have just returned from a blissful 5 night stay at Unguja Lodge. Booked through our tour operator Imagine Africa so didn't quite know what to expect but we were not disappointed. Unguja was all we could wish for and much more. We chose a sea view villa (no. 2 with a small tree in the loo!)... More

Unguja Lodge, Zanzibar We have just returned from a week at this amazing lodge. The few cabins are, tall, thatched and comfortable, and the main building a huge similar construction. The design of this and the adjacent pool is brilliant – compact yet spacious. And all shrouded by trees and vegetation present before they were built. This gives the area... More

We stayed here after visiting the Selous, Tanzania and Mafia island, the setting is delightful, the design natural, and it was great fun to share our home with the monkeys, hyax, and elephant shrews. Stunning views from our villa, and wonderful sunsets. Food and staff excellent. Thankyou to Omari1,2 and 3! and apologies to other guests for our last evening,... More

My wife and I stayed at Unguja Lodge for three nights at the beginning of October and had a great time! By looking at the website it’s difficult to get a feel for and appreciate what it’s really like. The rooms, as one previous reviewer stated, are very big. It gives you the feeling of opulence. Imagine Africa recommended Unguja Lodge for its diving centre, as well as its great rooms and service. Zanzibar is a fantastic place for reef-diving and the diving starts directly from the Lodge. Dolphin-watching and snorkelling are also available and for those less active, the swimming pool beckons! The rooms in the lodge have a unique design, melding traditional Zanzibar materials... More
