We stayed here after climbing Kilimanjaro last year (sorry for the late review guys!) and what a welcome retreat it was! The lodge is stunning and accommodation is first class. The size of the villas was amazing and it was a perfect way to spend a week in a dream location. Open air (private) showers in the villa are also... More

We stayed here for five nights, after five nights of safari. Therefore we wanted a location we could relax and rest at. The lodge provided exactly that. It's a family run lodge, which provides an intimate and friendly environment. The staff are extremely helpful. The standard of food and service was excellent. We stayed within the hotel most of the... More

Hi Rolf and Elise! Hope all's well, and I know that this review is very belated (and you possibly don't even remember us), but given that the opportunity to go on tripadvisor to review it has appeared, I thought better late than never! We stayed here in the summer of 2012 (ignore the date given in the later section- it... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this wonderful review, even after two years. We are very glad you and the family enjoyed your stay in Unguja Lodge. The monkeys are still there and as naughty as ever! Fortunately it did not get worse and they are still very enjoyable to watch. At this moment we have... More

We couldn't believe the size of out 'hut' and loved the fact that half of it was open to the sea, including the shower! It was so relaxing and enjoyable we were spoiled with extra touches because we were on honeymoon... All the restaurant and bar staff including Omari 1, 2 and 3 and Joseph provided excellent service as well... More

Even though my husband is not a great beach lover or, for that matter, a great holiday lover, we decided to take advice from Sally and Alice (www.xxxxxx), who organised our Tanzanian itinerary, to follow our three-day safari with three days relaxing by a beach in Zanzibar. The photos of Unguja Lodge on their website looked pretty wonderful but came... More

We had the best time here after being on safari. The views from the rooms are spectacular. The water activity options are fantastic, as are all the staff. I would most definitely love to go with the family again.
